Among many reasons as to why Eric's death has affected me so much is the fact that he was a person of color, taking on enormous roles in a field that generally has not passed the torch of legacy animated characters to POC voices actors. The idea of a Filipino man being the next voice of Bugs Bunny was such a huge huge step in the right direction for seeing talent in places that were often overlooked. His presence inspired so many young voice actors from minority groups to step into the field and bat with the big leagues.

Before I log off, I do wanna highlight my personal favorite performance of his with Foghorns speech in the courtroom. A scene that genuinely gave me goosebumps on my first few watch throughs of CVA and it’s all thanks to Eric’s wonderful voice-acting.
I just can’t believe that Eric Bauza is gone, life can be so sudden and cruel, Rip to such a talented and kind man ❤️

As a massive fan of animation, I really admired and respected Eric Bauza. If you’re like me, it was very easy to see a bit of yourself in him, because he never lost his fandom or passion for the art of cartooning. Though he got his fame from voice acting, he started out in animation as an artist, doing work at Spumco in the early 2000’s. Even at the peak of his acting career in the last few years, he never forgot where he came from, and he brought the sensibility of being an animation fanatic and artist both to his performances and his support for those in the industry. When there was a strike or a protest, you could find him on the picket line. When Coyote v Acme was unfairly canned by Warner Bros, he never stopped speaking out about it, despite being the de facto face of the brand. It’s so heartwarming seeing all of the support and messages he’d given to cartoonists on social media through the years, no matter how small they were. He was always looking out for the little guy. Through it all, he was a lover of cartoons and people above all else. On that note, he was a great ambassador for animation in the public eye during these rocky times for the industry as a whole, constantly going on podcasts and sharing his love for cartoons on social media. Even as someone who didn’t know him personally, I’ll miss him very much. May he rest in peace.

Finding out today of all days that Bye Bye Bunny was saved is like an emotional uppercut after a gut punch. If Skydance scraps this film again, there will be hell to pay. It deserves to be seen, now more than ever.
‘Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical’ was confirmed to be Eric Bauza’s final project during his lifetime. Before Bauza’s passing, the film was put back into pre-production after being previously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery.

My thoughts are with the friends and family of beloved Torontonian and voice actor, Eric Bauza. He represented our city — and Scarborough — so well, with his immense creative talent and love for Toronto. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him and loved the incredible characters he brought to life with his voice.

Eric Bauza posted this the day the Skydance merger closed. It seemed to be his subtle way of reminding us that no matter whose name is on the logo, the creative legacy of Warner Bros. will not die. It’s thanks to people like him that it hasn’t.

We lost three legendary voices in 2026, but their work will never be forgotten 🕊️ In 2026, we said goodbye to Peter Cullen, Tom Kane, and Eric Bauza, three voice actors whose work reached across generations and helped define some of the characters millions grew up with. Peter Cullen gave the world the unmistakable voice of Optimus Prime and the beloved melancholy of Eeyore, becoming one of the most recognizable voices in animation history. Tom Kane became a defining voice of Professor Utonium, and throughout the Star Wars universe, most notably as Yoda and Admiral Ackbar, while also narrating every episode of The Clone Wars and lending his voice to countless other characters. And Eric Bauza, who passed away at just 46, carried the legacy of classic animation into a new generation as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, Road Runner and many more. His work earned him three Children’s & Family Emmy Awards. Their voices could sound completely different, but they shared something important: the ability to make fictional characters feel alive. Optimus Prime, Yoda, Bugs Bunny and countless others will continue speaking through the performances they left behind. We may have lost the voices, but we will never lose the characters they gave us. Their work will keep speaking for generations to come. 🕊️❤️

I would say Eric Bauza, who’s not only he can voice act but he is also an artist too.
In honor of International Artist Day, name an artist who changed your life.
