âI voted. I was standing in that voting booth thinking about high gas prices, expensive groceries, housing costs and the financial pressure on working families. Then my mind went to France, to Dearborn, Michigan and I realized this election is about far more than gas and groceries.
It's about our future, radical Islam, national security, illegal immigration, our borders, education, parental rights, sex and gender policies, and the values our children inherit.
I couldn't see myself voting for a party that hates America, apologizes for our country, is ashamed of our flag, and wants to rewrite our history and abandon our values.
So I voted red, not because Republicans get everything right, always do right by everyday Americans, or are free from corruption, but because I believe we can only fix this country if we still have a country left to fixâ

In 1943, the Gestapo finally caught Raymond Aubrac, one of Franceâs most wanted Resistance leaders. The German secret police sentenced him to death, and his execution was only days away.
At the same time, his wife Lucie was six months pregnant with their second child. Most people in her position would have gone into hiding, grieved quietly, and prayed for a miracle.
Lucie Aubrac decided to do something completely different.
She got her hands on forged identity papers, created a believable cover story, and walked straight into the office of Klaus Barbie. History would later remember Barbie as the brutal Butcher of Lyon, but Lucie did not let fear stop her.
She looked him in the eye and successfully convinced him to grant her a final visit with her condemned husband.
But Lucie did not risk her life just to say a tearful goodbye. While she was inside the prison area, she was secretly memorizing the positions of the guards, counting the minutes between patrols, and mapping out the exact route the prison truck would take.
She was treating a desperate situation like a military operation.
On October 21, 1943, that prison truck rolled through the streets of Lyon. It was carrying Raymond and several other prisoners toward what should have been their final destination.
What the German soldiers did not know was that Lucie had spent weeks quietly assembling a dedicated team of Resistance fighters.
She planned an ambush with absolute precision.
When the truck finally reached the chosen ambush spot, her team struck fast, coordinated, and without a single moment of hesitation.

And so she goes into her photo album pretending like she doesnât know how to work her phone whatsoever. Goes into her photo album. Sure enough, there are like 10 zoomed-in photos of just my daughter. Just my daughter. My daughter's faceâ

When Marlee Matlin was twelve, she walked up to Henry Winkler after a performance at a Chicago center for deaf children and told him she wanted to be an actress in Hollywood, just like him.
He didnât know American Sign Language and knew almost nothing about deaf culture, but he looked at her and said not to let anyone tell her it was impossible.
Her mother, worried about how hard the industry would be for a deaf girl, pulled him aside and asked him to discourage the idea. He told her she was talking to the wrong person.
They stayed in touch. Eight years later, at twenty-one, Matlin stood on the Academy Awards stage holding the Oscar for Best Actress for Children of a Lesser Godâthe first deaf performer to win in an acting category.
The win brought sudden fame and, privately, a hard stretch that included rehab and the end of a difficult relationship. She showed up at the Winklersâ door and asked if she could stay for the weekend.
Henry and his wife Stacey said yes. What was supposed to be a couple of days turned into two years. They treated her like family: family dinners, ordinary expectations, a guest house that became a place to rebuild. She has called Henry a second father ever since.
In 1993 she married Kevin Grandalski in the Winklersâ backyard. The friendship never turned into a Hollywood transaction.
Decades later it still shows up in ordinary waysâmentorship, encouragement, the simple fact that someone had believed her long before the industry had any reason to. The person who changed her life was not the one who handed her a trophy.
