Today I am humbled to be conferred with the Order of Jamaica 🇯🇲 in recognition of decades of national service. I must acknowledge my family who deserve this honour having sacrificed and toiled with me over many years in representational politics. First I must thank God Almighty who continues to guide and protect me. His blessings are more than I can thank Him for.
I thank my family, friends, parliamentary colleagues and the faithful people of Portland who continue to support me.
I thank the many public sector workers and civil servants who continue to work diligently and patiently with me as I build upon the vision of a better and more prosperous Jamaica for all.
Finally, I thank our Prime Minister who has been a friend and inspiration through the good times and bad.

When @MaxGlazer says that he is warming up the crowd for me to come and do my usual dancing class at @AFJcares gala in NYC I cannot disappoint.
Tons of fun last night for a good cause and celebrating great people.

Part of the reason debt repayment is so high as a % for low-income countries is because multilaterals repeatedly forced them to borrow at high interest rates while cutting investment in things that would grow their economies, like education, healthcare and local industry.
The film “Life and Debt” offers a great breakdown of how that was done to Jamaica.
Money spent on interest is money that can't go to public investment, social spending, or support during downturns. In low-income countries, interest payments today consume over 15% of tax revenues. Read more in the latest Fiscal Monitor blog: imf.org/en/blogs/articles/20…

A total of 221 Jamaicans received Letters of Possession, providing legal recognition of their right to occupy their land as they continue the process of securing ownership.
A Letter of Possession gives you the legal recognition of your right to occupy your property without disturbance. This document establishes your possession and is an important part of the process towards obtaining official titles.
I understand what this means for a family. It means having a place to call your own, building a home and creating something that can be passed on to your children.
Your Government remains committed to helping more Jamaicans regularise their land and gain the security that comes with having a recognised right to their property.

The organization and value for money👍🏾I 1st met Teika yrs ago when we operated an Airbnb. She was a repeat guest & I remember how well she took care of our property. When someone’s character matches how they do business, recommending them is easy💃

Jamaican psychological thriller Stew Peas is set to make history as the first Jamaican film to be distributed by Caribbean Cinemas, with a simultaneous theatrical release across seven Caribbean territories on October 29.
Written, directed and produced by Sosiessia Nixon-Kelly, the film will be screened in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Antigua, Guyana, St Lucia, St Kitts and the US Virgin Islands.
The milestone comes as the film celebrates six nominations at the inaugural Caribbean Film Awards, including individual recognition for Nixon-Kelly in the Best Director category and Kerry-Ann ‘Chiney K’ Collins for Best Actress.
The regional expansion follows the film's successful run in Jamaican cinemas and paves the way for a limited US theatrical release in January 2027.

Last night in Curaçao, I had the opportunity to connect with members of our Jamaican Diaspora, share updates on developments back home and hear directly about their experiences and concerns.
Our Jamaicans abroad remain an important part of our national family, and I value these opportunities to listen, understand their needs and explore how we can support them.
