We asked an agent to log 40 messages in 3 CRMs through their MCP servers. One took 3x as long and cost 4x as much.
Attio's log showed 116 successful calls. Baton showed 80 of them were the same 2 steps on repeat.

We asked an agent to tune the same slow query on 3 Postgres MCP servers: Supabase, Neon and Postgres MCP Pro. Baton let us see why the agent ran extra queries and built unnecessary indexes, and once we knew why, we knew how to fix it.

“I rarely go to your dashboard anymore”
that’s what I keep hearing from users.
we spent years polishing the dashboard.
now we need to spend that same energy making our MCP stellar.
ask your users where they actually touch your product today. the answer probably moved.
Some serious side-eye coming at me from Claude this morning:
"Dave's typing looks different anyway: short, unfenced, lowercase, typo-heavy."

I think this is accurate and think the distinction doesn’t really matter.
API or MCP/skills, most products will just be a wealth of data and knowledge my AI can plug into.
“Software” without the unnecessary complication of a UX or visual interface.
My rough prediction here is there's going to be two types of companies:
1. Companies that are ok with basically being an API - they expose an MCP, skills, embrace your agents
2. Companies that charge a ton for API access, try to get you using their own agents,
Companies will gravitate to #2 because being API only is scary / feels very replaceable opening opportunities for #1 companies to replace them because they're more agent native
I don't have a good answer for what the moat is for #1 companies but it's how I want to be using software

The fact that SaaS co's are giving us agents instead of MCPs shows just how self-centered / narcissistic they are.
I never wanted to "live in your product." Your product was the best way to get something done. If the best way to get it done is now headless, please let me do that.

companies building their own agent rather than exposing an mcp / cli for their uses is like if you had to download a separate browser for every website you use

So many vendors are NOT getting this
I have one or two agents I use and like. For anyone else: give me an MCP interface to connect these agents to so I can use your service
Unless your a frontier AI lab, I prob don't want to use your agent, sorry

i really don't want to use your agent, i want to use my agent to use your thing.
Tony, the Anthony Bourdain movie, is really good. Smiling the whole time. And only 1 hr 46 mins which is amazing these days when everything is over 2.5 hours
When SaaS companies say they need to build their own agents to control the UX of their APIs it’s like them saying they need to fork Chrome to control the UX of their website
If I write a plan for a large feature I want and I ask Claude cowork to do it and it gives me Claude code in the terminal commands to run and I just keep accepting the permission prompts over and over and when I’m done it works does that mean I’m good at coding or bad at it?
Is it just me or is it kind of intense that Odysseus comes back and is like, “I need to murder everyone in here”. I mean I get that Antinous sucks and needs to go - but how do you get from that to I’m just going to kill anyone in here who doesn’t take a knee and beg for mercy?
Why is there no game of thrones show or movie about Robert’s rebellion? Think young Ned, young Robert, young Jaime. That would rock so hard
What are your favorite apps that you want to just use through Claude / ChatGPT and never actually visit the app again?
I’ll start with mine:
-Make me a PowerPoint deck (only open PowerPoint to present it)
-Store my meeting notes in Notion / read my Notion meeting notes (I still use Notion UI for to do list but days are numbered I think)
-Search my LinkedIn network with Super Carl
-Read my Gmails / Slacks
-Make me a website instead of VS Code

Taylor Sheridan tells Rogan how he convinced Billy Bob Thornton to do Landman:
“I went out to Billy Bob before I wrote a word.
I told him, ‘If you don’t do this, I’m not going to do this. I want to take your character from Bad Santa, put him in West Texas and run an oil company.’
He said, ‘That sounds f**king awesome.’”
Is there really no way to get @netflix to stop recommending shows that are dubbed to me?
