Unsure if you are or the person you are playing with is good at golf? Here's the only scorecard you'll ever need. Print this off and stick it in your custom leather yardage book and you'll never be unsure again. Please note there are no yardages and no numerical pars, because obviously that doesn't matter. If you noticed that and was confused, shrink yourself for not understanding what makes someone good at golf. 馃

Notice a new "group" of golfers the past couple of months at my local course. Around 10 guys. Age range 55-70. They have 3 tee times booked. My buddy and I was the tee time before them Thursday. They were playing music on the range & talking excessively loud. I ignored it and we tee'd off. I noticed around hole 5 the first group of 3 was starting to aggressively be on our ass. So I started paying attention to how this is possible as I'm not a slow player. They all play as they are a single. They don't wait till everyone is done teeing off to drive away from the tee box. They hit whenever they are at their ball, regardless of the player 40 yards behind them trying to hit. If near one another they are hitting at the same time. Then they all collectively drive right past the no cart signs and park a few yards off the green. They were hitting approach shots before we even pulled away to the next hole. The pro was super thrilled to see them driving down the middle of the fairway and around the green on the par 3 cart path only 9th.
In case you were wondering why it was so chilly this morning, it's because hell has finally frozen over and I have gotten a job. 馃
Have another interview today so dropped the wife off at work and stopped by the course with prayers my LW would be there. No luck, but it's looking amazing. 馃
The 2 biggest lessons I learned after spending 7 yrs in trades is that before the work is done the homeowners have no idea how to do it, but the second you finish they are suddenly experts and they ALWAYS expect Ferrari performance while purchasing a Geo Metro. Just one painting example here....After walking around the house with a flashlight up to the wall this homeowner had about 140 post-it notes on paint spots he was unhappy about. The painter had a field day with this guy.
Just got quoted $2,400 to paint a 23 by 13 foot living room.
The 4 gallons of paint it takes to do the job costs about $110 at Home Depot, or around $160 if you want Sherwin Williams.
This is not a particularly skilled job.
You went to trade school, not medical school.
You own a brush and a roller.
Stop ripping people off, contractors.
Just got back from a job interview that's paying 65% less than my last job. Will be enjoying fresh humble pie for dinner tonight. 馃
Only if that super intelligence can provide you with the trigger that will allow you to be persuaded. I know what mine is and I haven't figured out how to get the "super intelligence" to deliver on it yet.
It happened again. In 4 hours this company accepted my resume, had a phone call w/ me, called my references, my former employer, and set up an interview. Woke up at 6 am to make sure I was ready for my 8 am interview. It went great. Received this 24 hrs later. FML 馃拃馃敨
Honest question for my business professional followers here. Lately in my job search, companies have been reaching out to have meetings with me. Normally in the first 5 minutes or so they say they aren't necessarily looking to hire anyone and that they "just wanted to meet me", but then I'm normally their an hour or so with them. Is this a normal practice? If I'm doing something wrong immediately not to be hired why would they continue to interact for an hour? They are normally all very positive meetings but it just seems odd. Between an initial phone call and a meeting, I just spent 2 hours with a company who wasn't even hiring anyone. I spend a decent amount of time preparing for these "meetings" so I can be well prepared. It just sucks to get my hopes up every week.
