Holy 💩! I’ve been prescribing an unapproved medication all this time? Also worth citing the NNT, which is 8, and the fact that in covid-19 where the patient is not requiring oxygenation support, it could lead to harm...

Medicine is an art and a science. Watching how a patient walks into the room and the expression on their face gives me 100 non-verbal clues as to their state of health and mind. Telephone clinics have their place but don’t replace clincial skills.

Update: Following hospital figures today, a cautious estimate of the number of excess UK deaths linked to the coronavirus pandemic up to 26 May is 63,800 Of these 59,359 have happened between mid March and Mid May, the rest are estimates 1/

For all the criticisms and cynicism’s of @NightingaleLDN, many of which were fair, there is no doubt that it was a triumph of cohesion and collaboration of pan-London multiprofessional NHS staff. It’s the people that make the NHS great and I met some of the best it has to offer.
