Attract and retain male educators, especially our black ones. It is not easy to get over 20 male educators in an elementary school. We all play a unique role with impacting our students and school culture. Thanks to @RealMenTeach2 for our personalized hoodies and the vision!

First day at the newly renamed John R. Thompson Jr. High School.
Named in honor of the legendary Washingtonian, educator, and Georgetown basketball coach whose impact reached far beyond the court.
What a way to celebrate his legacy—by welcoming students back to a beautiful, reimagined campus with expanded capacity, a new building, an indoor courtyard, views of the Potomac, and, most importantly, incredible teachers and staff ready to make this a great year.

Thank you, Chancellor Ferebee, for years of leadership, guidance, & support. Serving at both Stanton ES & MacArthur HS (now John R. Thompson Jr. HS) under your leadership has been instrumental to my growth. @LewisDFerebee
Until next time. And yes #FlyEaglesFly over everything.

Focusing on what you can’t control makes you stressed. Focusing on what you can control makes you powerful.
