Excellent & highly practical overview by @TeresaLpezFdez1 @ESCardioOnco at #HeartFailure26: 📍The heart-cancer connection goes far beyond CTR-CVT, HF & cancer share: common risk factors & pathways. 📍Before saying “yes” or “no” to #anthracyclines, ask 4 key questions: - What is the HF phenotype? - What is the cancer priority/prognosis? - Are effective non-anthracycline alternatives available? - Can we reduce & closely monitor CV risk? 📍Anthracyclines are not always absolutely contraindicated in HF. Some patients may still proceed with: - optimized HF therapy - intensive surveillance - cardioprotection strategies - modified regimens 📍Management must be multidisciplinary.
