Fraudsters are abusing Google Firebase to host fake banking pages (SBI, ICICI, Axis) and deploy APKs that steal SMS OTPs. Cyber authorities via @Cyberdost / @HMOIndia have ordered 160+ fraudulent Firebase projects removed.

A cloned voice moved ₹9.84 Crore. 🚨
Scammers used AI deepfake tech to clone Rajya Sabha MP Govindbhai Dholakia’s voice, running fake "Old Coin Company" ads on Facebook & Instagram promising lakhs for rare notes.
How the trap worked:
1️⃣ Manipulated public videos using AI voiceover tools.
2️⃣ Showed fake RBI notices & PAN cards to build trust.
3️⃣ Demanded upfront UPI "processing & GST fees" from victims.
Surat Cyber Crime Police traced the operators to Haryana and arrested 2 suspects linked to 10 bank accounts.
💡 Proactive Tip: Money you are owed NEVER starts with a fee you pay. RBI never charges processing fees for old coins online.
