We can evaluate this argument because people made similar claims about SB 9. In fact, SB 9 has been used much more often in wealthy areas with larger lots. Danville has had 4x as many SB 9 applications as Oakland xitter.cf/e_baldi/status/1814333…

Five years after I first introduced it and three years after City Council’s historic unanimous COMMITMENT to end exclusionary zoning by December 2022, Berkeley is on the cusp of making history. On Tues, July 23rd, the Council will vote to end exclusionary zoning once and for all
As the councilmember who represents the birthplace of racist exclusionary zoning laws, it is my great pleasure to announce that my colleagues @TaplinTerry, @benbartlett, @RigelRobinson & I are introducing a resolution calling for the end of exclusionary zoning in Berkeley.

I’ve covered Prop 47 since it was put on the ballot a decade ago and watched as it has been debated, blamed and praised.
So with multiple attempts pending to change the ballot measure- what has it actually done?
Here’s what I found

California's first-in-the-nation reparations task force submitted its final report. Thx to @NotoriousECG for pointing out that a SOLD OUT ep I did w/ @e_baldi on the racist origins of Berkeley's zoning laws was cited as evidence for new policy to address housing segregation (!!)
