In a recent open-access article published in @PASPJournal the high-contrast polarimetric measurements of debris disks with the @NASARoman coronagraph have been simulated. Peak disk polarization recovery upwards of 89% have been achieved. iopscience.iop.org/article/1…. -JGM

The pub quiz asked which heavenly body orbited the sun at 1au and I said the Moon and they said no the answer is the Earth and I said that is literally the only thing in the universe that is not a heavenly body and they did not give me the point and yes I am still sore about it.

The @UArizona facilities atop the Santa Catalina Mountains are truly extraordinary. They bring us amazing scientific work, and, as in this timelapse from @Catalina_Sky, often beautiful views of the wonders of our world (and Universe).
The solar activity has been intense enough that the #AuroraBorealis can be seen down here in Tucson, it was a lovely show captured by our Mount Bigelow all-sky camera!

This kind of spectrum has us agog at JWST's astonishing capabilities. It shows the largest number of molecules ever identified all at once on an exoplanet. Planet VHS 1256 b is ~40 light-years away and orbits not 1, but 2 stars over a 10,000-year period. jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasas-webb…
