Linda McMahon on successful uses of AI in classrooms: "The first couple hours every day students really have on headphones, they're in front of their computers, they're getting their subjects fed to them ... the beauty of that is the student almost has a one-on-one tutor ... I have seen it work so well"

The Blackstone Group is the largest private owner of rent-stabilized apartments in New York City, not small mom and pop landlords. Valued at $137 billion (not including the $1.3 trillion in assets they control), Blackstone is headed by Stephen A. Schwarzman, whose total yearly compensation exceeds $1 billion. The idea of the "mom and pop" landlord being priced out of business because of a rent freeze is a myth. Small independent landlords (owning 10 or fewer units) make up only 1.2% of the ownership of rent-stabilized units. Meanwhile large corporations own 87% of those units, with mega corporations like Blackstone Group (owning 1000 or more units) controlling 56% of the market. Mega corporations like Blackstone are pushing the myth of the small independent landlord to hide the fact that they and other mega corporations control the vast majority of NYC rentals. And honestly, fuck them.

All this tweet does is remind people that you raised the rent 4 years in a row.
I’m sure a scavenger hunt was fun for the people with nothing better to do. Ask our working families trying to do whatever they can to survive if they participated. Ask the people worried about making rent if they thought it was worth it. Mamdani is trying to turn our city into the Squid Games.

We have underperforming schools that have been underperforming for decades. Let’s close these failed schools and replace them with schools of promise. The future of our city’s children depends on it. The New York dream means opportunity for all.

This is one of the most astoundingly stupid things I had ever seen in my life. Cuomo is running on a policy barring middle-class New Yorkers from ONE MILLION rentals in NYC.
Today, I am proud to announce that I will be proposing “Zohran’s law," a law that will keep the rich out of New York’s affordable housing. @ZohranKMamdani : you say freeze the rent. But for who? Rich people like you? Hardworking, working class New Yorkers are being pushed from their neighborhoods. Let’s build affordable housing that helps the people who need it. Under Zohran’s law, landlords can no longer rent vacant rent-controlled units to the wealthy. You are a rich person stealing affordable housing from the poor. And you’re not the only one. It’s past time we address this injustice. Let’s build a new NYC that works for the people who need it.

SO proud of @alexaforcouncil, a fearless champion for working people & fellow Boricua 🇵🇷, who took on powerful interests in her first term on the NYC Council. They didn’t like her dissent, and mounted a highly funded challenge to unseat her. She won anyway. ¡Felicidades, Alexa!
🚨I've seen enough 🚨 Alexa Avilés has won re-election to Council District 38, defeating Lingxia Ye.

Yep, true story, I’m not allowed to give a student an Advil at school but they let me do surgeries! Gotta get parental consent for a field trip to see The Lion King, but not for the surgeries! Public schools amiright
“But uh the transgender thing is an incredible thing… your kid goes to school & comes home a few days later with an operation the school decides what’s going to happen with your child & you many of these childs 15 years later say “what the hell happened who did this to me?” 🤦🏻‍♀️

If this convention is all about unity, the quickest path to division is to block a Palestinian-American speaker. If it’s about *vibes*, the quickest way to sour them is to silence Palestinian-American @DNC delegates. #LetRuwaSpeak

It’s deeply heartbreaking and infuriating that in a DNC convention that is meant to engender hope and uplift voices throughout the party & our nation, that a Palestinian-American is NOT allowed to speak on stage. There is still time to change course. @DNC

Rachel and Jon deserved every second on that stage. I also believe a Palestinian American voice deserves to be heard on that stage. I’d love to hear from @Ruwa4Georgia and I hope the DNC will give her the chance to be heard.
My speech urged us to unite behind Harris, criticized Trump, and spoke about the promise of this moment. The only reason we’re doing this is to save the soul of our party and prevent bad actors from using our pain in an ongoing voter suppression campaign.
