Pitting asylum seekers against "domestic" unhoused people is a false — and dangerous — dichotomy. Vulnerable groups do not siphon resources from one another; rather, those that hold power — governments — withhold resources from everyone. All homelessness is a policy choice.

BREAKING: After a months long investigation into why police hesitated during the Uvalde school shooting, the answer is in: the police were afraid to confront the killer’s AR-15.
This raises a very important question, if police are too afraid to confront an AR-15 where does that lead the rest of us?

Will T.O. ever come out and say that the $800,000 that was budgeted to create a 24/7 warming centre until April 15 didn't result in a new space or increased capacity in the system? And that instead, they're keeping Metro Hall, a repurposed office building, open until April 15?

TTC fare evasion fine: $235 - $425.
Average Toronto parking fine: $30 - $50.
We need to consider the equity impacts of resuming ticketing on the TTC. Our focus right now should be on improving service, accessibility and reliability of our transit system.
NEW: The TTC will resume ticketing for fare evasion in March in the hopes of boosting its revenue by $6M.
