Three Reasons High School S&C positions arenāt entry level:
1. Sheer volume of athletes - both overall and by session
2. Constraints - space, time, resourcesā¦your textbook methods are no good here
3. Outside interference - club, ātrainers,ā Dad + garage
Sport coaches, parents, athletes, clubs & organizations; PLEASE make sure you are working with a qualified professional in the S&C industry.
Letās avoid allowing IG coaches access to hurt our athletes & lay foundations for more issues down the line.

Body language will add or subtract value to whatās being communicated with your athletes. If you care, square up to them, get on their level, look them in the eye, youāll be surprised how much more of your coaching is absorbed when they can feel you care with nonverbal actions.

Today as I was conditioning two of my Meredith College teams we had a sudden change of plans.
It was intended to be a dreaded 45min of amphitheater sprints, jumps, & medleys. Though we started out as planned- as I was watching I couldnāt help but be reminded of the news I got
Purpose. They got better. It may not have been the most complicated & technical skill session but I am 100% confident each an every one of them walked away feeling better, & more prepared to perform better.
Yes we literally scattered gear and made a game out of it.
