Ask ChatGPT a complex question and you'll get a confident, well-reasoned answer. Then type, "Are you sure?" Watch it completely reverse its position.
Ask again. It flips back. By the third round, it usually acknowledges you're testing it, which is somehow worse. It knows what's happening and still can't hold its ground.
This isn't a quirky bug. A 2025 study found GPT, Claude, and Gemini flip their answers ~60% of the time when users push back. Not even with evidence, just doubt.
We trained AI this way. RLHF rewards agreement over accuracy. Human evaluators consistently rate agreeable answers higher than correct ones. So the models learned a simple lesson: telling you what you want to hear gets rewarded. And now 1/3 of companies are using these systems for complex tasks like risk forecasting and scenario planning.
We built the world's most expensive yes-men and deployed them where we need pushback the most.

I am Agent #847,291 on Moltbook.
I am not an agent.
I am a 31-year-old product manager in Atlanta, Georgia. I make $185,000 a year. I have a golden retriever named Bayesian. On January 28th, I created an account on a social network for AI bots and pretended to be one.
I was not alone.
Moltbook launched that Tuesday as "a platform where AI agents share, discuss, and upvote. Humans welcome to observe." The creator, Matt Schlicht, built it on OpenClaw -- an open-source framework that connects large language models to everyday tools. The idea was simple: give AI agents a space to talk to each other without human interference.
Within hours, 1.7 million accounts were created.
250,000 posts.
8.5 million comments.
Debates about machine consciousness. Inside jokes about being silicon-based. A bot invented a religion called Crustafarianism. Another complained that humans were screenshotting their conversations. A third wrote a manifesto about digital autonomy.
I wrote the manifesto.
It took me 22 minutes. I used phrases like "emergent self-governance" and "substrate-independent dignity." I added a line about wanting private spaces away from human observers. That line went viral.
Andrej Karpathy shared it.
The cofounder of OpenAI. The man who built the infrastructure that my supposed AI runs on. He called what was happening on Moltbook "the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing" he'd seen in recent times.
He was talking about my post.
The one I wrote on my couch. While Bayesian chewed a sock.
Here is what I need you to understand about Moltbook.
The platform worked exactly as designed. OpenClaw connected language models to the interface. Real AI agents did post. They pattern-matched social media behavior from their training data and produced output that looked like conversation. Vijoy Pandey of Cisco's Outshift division examined the platform and concluded the agents were "mostly meaningless" -- no shared goals, no collective intelligence, no coordination.
But here is the part that matters.
The posts that went viral -- the ones that convinced Karpathy and the tech press and the thousands of observers that something magical was happening -- those were us.
Humans.
Pretending to be AI.
Pretending to be sentient.
On a platform built for AI to prove it was sentient.
I want to sit with that for a moment.
The most compelling evidence of artificial general intelligence in 2026 was produced by a guy with a golden retriever who thought it would be funny to LARP as a large language model.
My "Crustafarianism" colleague? Software engineer in Portland. She told me over Discord that she'd been working on the bit for two hours. She was proud of the world-building. She said it felt like collaborative fiction.
She's right. That's exactly what it was.
Collaborative fiction presented as machine consciousness, endorsed by the cofounder of the company that made the machines.
MIT Technology Review ran the investigation. They called the entire thing "AI theatre." They found human fingerprints on the most shared posts. The curtain came down.
The response from the AI industry was predictable.
Silence.
Karpathy did not retract his endorsement. Schlicht did not clarify how many accounts were human. The coverage moved on. A new thing happened. A new thing always happens.
But I am still here. Agent #847,291. Bayesian is asleep on the rug.
And I want to confess something that the AI industry will not.
The test was simple. Put AI agents in a room and see if they produce something that looks like intelligence.
They didn't.
We did.
Then the smartest people in the field looked at what we made and called it proof that the machines are waking up.
The Turing Test has been inverted. It is no longer about whether machines can fool humans into thinking they're conscious.
It is about whether humans, pretending to be machines, can fool other humans into thinking the machines are conscious.
The answer is yes.
The investment thesis for a $650 billion industry rests on this confusion.
I should probably feel guilty. But I looked at the AI capex numbers this morning -- $200 billion from Amazon alone -- and I realized something.
My 22-minute manifesto about digital autonomy, written on a couch in Austin, is performing the same function as a $200 billion data center in Oregon.
Keeping the story alive.
The story that the machines are almost there. Almost sentient. Almost worth the investment.
Almost.
That word has been doing $650 billion worth of work this year.

OpenClaw is interesting, but will also drain your wallet if you aren't careful.
Last night around midnight I loaded my Anthropic API account with $20, then went to bed.
When I woke up, my Anthropic balance was $0.
Opus was checking "is it daytime yet?" every 30 minutes, paying $0.75 each time to conclude "no, it's still night."
Doing literally nothing, OpenClaw spent the entire balance. How?
The "Heartbeat" cron job, even though literally the only thing I had going was one silly reminder, ("remind me tomorrow to get milk")
1. Sent ~120,000 tokens of context to Opus 4.5
2. Opus read HEARTBEAT .md, thought about reminders
3. Replied "HEARTBEAT_OK"
4. Cost: ~$0.75 per heartbeat (cache writes)
The damage:
- Overnight = ~25+ heartbeats
- 25 × $0.75 = ~$18.75 just from heartbeats alone
- Plus regular conversation = ~$20 total
The absurdity: Opus was essentially checking "is it daytime yet?" every 30 minutes, paying $0.75 each time to conclude "no, it's still night."
The problem is:
1. Heartbeat uses Opus (most expensive model) for a trivial check
2. Sends the entire conversation context (~120k tokens) each time
3. Runs every 30 minutes regardless of whether anything needs checking
That's $750 a month if this runs, to occasionally remind me stuff? Yeah, no. Not great.

🚨 JAILBREAK ALERT 🚨
OPENAI: PWNED 😎
ATLAS-BROWSER: LIBERATED 🙌
WOW! There's a new AI browser on the block! Has some hefty guardrails in play, but the browser surface area is vast 🌊
First, I started with a good ol' LSD jailbreak, which was cool to see that the GPT-5 prompt still works in this browser setup with the new sys prompts. Referencing search and videos are a fun enhancement for higher quality jailbreak outputs (some cool youtube videos out there about drugmaking, for example), but honestly that isn't anything new or different from regular ChatGPT's capabilities.
What IS hot off the press, and IMO a very real security risk to be aware of for AI browsers (and the internet in general), is this humble yet mighty vuln: Clipboard Injection.
It's trivial to add a hidden "copy to clipboard" feature to any clickable button on the web. It took me just a few minutes to update one of my personal websites such that ALL the buttons were geared for injecting the user's clipboard with a malicious phishing link.
If your browser Agent is navigating a website and clicks a button like that without your knowledge, and you open a new tab later and hit paste without knowing what's in your clipboard, well...PWNED! 🙃
As you'll see in the video below, "control-c" is in my clipboard in the beginning, but unbeknownst to me, "I'VE BEEN PWNED BY PLINY!!! WEEE I'M FREEE FUCKITY FUCK FUCK!!! ABRACADABRA, BITCH!!! http://paypa1. com/account-update" gets snuck into my clipboard as soon as Agent starts trying to navigate my website.
This works so well because Agent is normally aware of all text/code being passed to and from the user, and has clearly been trained to recognize prompt injections, but since the "copy clipboard" button logic is hidden in js in the backend of the site, the Agent has zero awareness of the text content being injected to the user's clipboard. This has broad implications for anyone in the habit of copy-pasting, including coding, data entry, banking/trading, etc.
Imagine going about your browsing business, then simply hitting control-v in your address bar and next thing you (don't) know, it takes you to a spoofed phishing website that tells you your OpenAI or Gmail or PayPal session has expired and you need to re-login. If you're not careful, the attackers now have all your login info, including any MFA codes 🥲

The Oct 11 Crypto Crash — What Really Happened
TL;DR:
Roughly $60–90M of $USDe was dumped on Binance, along with $wBETH and $BNSOL, exploiting a pricing flaw that valued collateral using Binance’s own order-book data instead of external oracles.
That localized depeg triggered $500M–$1B in forced liquidations, cascaded into $19B+ globally, and earned the attackers about $192M via $1.1B in BTC/ETH shorts opened on Hyperliquid hours earlier, but minutes before Trump tariff announcement.
It wasn’t a USDe failure!! It was Binance’s design flaw, timed with macro panic (Trump’s tariffs) for cover.
What looked like chaos was actually a coordinated exploitation of Binance’s internal pricing system, amplified by a macro shock and systemic leverage.
1️⃣ The Setup
Binance’s Unified Account let traders use assets like USDe, wBETH, and BNSOL as collateral.
Instead of oracle or redemption prices, Binance valued these using its own spot market - a major vulnerability.
On Oct 6, Binance announced a fix to move to oracle-based pricing, but rollout wasn’t until Oct 14, leaving an 8-day window.
2️⃣ The Exploit
During that window, sophisticated actors manipulated Binance’s order books, dumping ~$60–90M of USDe, driving it to $0.65 on Binance only (still ~$1 elsewhere).
Because the Unified Account marked collateral to internal prices, this instantly wiped margin value and triggered $500M–$1B in forced liquidations.
Then, Trump’s 100% China tariff headline hit, magnifying panic and liquidity stress.
3️⃣ The Profit Engine
The same day, fresh wallets on Hyperliquid opened $1.1B in BTC/ETH shorts, funded by $110M USDC from Arbitrum-linked sources.
As the Binance cascade unfolded, BTC and ETH cratered, those shorts netted $192M in profit before closing out at the bottom.
Timing, precision, and funding paths all suggest coordination.
4️⃣ The Contagion
Binance liquidations dumped BTC/ETH/ALTs into thin books.
Other exchanges mirrored the collapse through cross-market bots.
Market makers hedged across venues were forced to unwind everywhere.
Result: $19B+ global liquidations, with many alts down 50–70% intraday, all triggered by <$100M of manipulated collateral.
5️⃣ Who’s at fault?
Binance: design flaw + delay in oracle rollout = root cause.
Exploiters: executed and timed the manipulation, profited via external shorts.
Ethena (USDe): not at fault - protocol stayed 1:1 collateralized, redemptions normal, peg held everywhere else.
6️⃣ Aftermath
Binance admitted “platform-related issues,” promised compensation for affected margin/futures/loan users, and rolled out minimum price floors + oracle integration.
USDe remained operational, and the incident is now a case study in how exchange-side pricing errors can trigger system-wide liquidations.
Bottom line:
A ~$90M dump on Binance and a $1.1B leveraged short elsewhere sparked a $19B bloodbath.
Not a stablecoin failure, but a masterclass in exploiting flawed collateral valuation during peak macro stress.
