What is the best local dev harness for @opencode? Don't say OpenCode.
If B2B marketers wrote product copy for watchmakers:
“We don’t just make watches, we orchestrate temporal experiences.”
“We are the infrastructure layer for telling you what time it is.”
“We unlock the hidden potential of your business through predictive ticking.”
“We are the industry leader in mission-critical punctuality solutions.”
“Our enterprise-grade, multi-modal time platform is built for the new era of wrist-management.”

Just this week, I’ve come across something called “phantom seo” and “parasite seo”—both surreptitious hacks to influence AI chatbot responses.
Black hat SEO guys are so back.

The most common feedback I receive from people is that MediaContext is built for a shrinking industry.
They are not wrong.
Well, media is shrinking and expanding depending on where you look, but generally speaking —it’s not a booming industry, such as AI, for instance.
That’s fine, I was betting on productizing my industry experience by delivering something with no precedent or match.
Based on the early signals I’ve received from design partner conversations, that bet is likely to pay off.
This doesn’t mean I don’t have other plans. I know people talk a lot about the importance of focus in the early years of starting up, but you can take it too far.
I think your ideas should be in a Darwinian pressure for survival until they prove themselves.
For some startups, this can mean going through 10+ pivots to get where they need to, but I think you could just have divergent bets from the beginning.
I want my focus to be guided by maximizing optionality, not artificially shrinking it with self-imposed constraints.
At this time, I have three product concepts in the backlog, two of which have nothing to do with media or adtech.
Don’t wait for the market to disrupt your strategy and force your hand into a pivot.
Disrupt yourself now.
Being an abject academic failure in one of the most meritocratic and hyper-competitive countries in the world probably inured me to the idea is failure. In my mind, the worst already happened. It’s all gravy from here.
Closed a $15k deal y’all!
Biggest in the history of my startup.
Now I can pay for my therapy.

Someone needs to make a terminal-first harness for technical marketers, and if no one does it, I guess I will.
Happy to share the first industry research coming out of the MediaContext stable.
In this one, we dive into the CrUX ad experience metrics released by the Chrome dev team, benchmarking against on-page tech, Sincera ad metrics, CWV, and supply path quality to contextualize what these metrics denote and how to use them.
For buyers and supply-path teams:
- Don’t use Ad Weight: CPU or Ad Weight: Network as an inventory-quality filter. High weight identifies sites with more header-bidding demand, not sites with more clutter.
- Use Ad Density as the CrUX signal for clutter. Use it together with reseller count, because dense sites with long reseller chains are a separate group.
- Don’t use a Better Ads "passing" status as evidence of a clean page layout.
For publishers & sales houses
- Monitor Ad Weight: CPU together with INP. In this sample, the share of origins with poor INP increases from 20% to 30% between the lowest and highest Ad CPU quartiles.
- Measure the CPU cost of each wrapper, identity provider, and refresh rule before you add it. Slot refresh has the largest coefficient in our model.
- Monitor Ad Density p75, especially on mobile. Buyers can now see this value in a public dataset.
For further research
- Join CrUX ad metrics to realized CPM and revenue per session. This step is necessary to measure correlation to yield.
- Use the CrUX History API to examine changes over time on the same origins, for example after a site removes a wrapper.

Thanks to the ad telemetry, page performance, and traffic rank data provided by Sincera, Google, and Cloudflare.
A pre-seed investor turned me down, citing that I’m going after an established, well-funded category.
Sorry, my bad.
I thought venture capital was all about making big bets. I’m not here trying to build fidget spinners because they make your fingers go brrr and have a big TAM.
Never forget that only 5% of your ICP is ready to buy at any given moment in time.
This is why you need to invest in branding, market awareness, and buyer education from day 1.
If you only do bottom of the funnel activities, you’re bombarding the 5% and using that as evidence to confirm your bias that marketing doesn’t work.
You need to get in the game and stay in the game, longer than your competitors are willing or able to.
That’s how you win a segment.
Also, if you’re homeschooling your kids… maybe consider not doing it.
It’s a bizarre social experiment to put a kid through with lifelong impact on social skills, quality of life markers, etc.
If you work on education, homeschool your kids, want to learn something new… check this out.
You can use AI to create the coolest and most engaging explainers in the world. Grab a coding agent, ask it for an explainer, deploy it, share the link.
So many ideas can be derived from this. Imagine a platform of vetted visualizations by experts in each field. Games or quizzes where you repair or reassemble the systems. A prompt input to extend them…

no matter how many startups you’ve built, the next one still makes you feel like a beginner. there’s always something you’ve never done before that you suddenly need to figure out.
jumping out of a plane, trying to break a guinness world record. it's all fun!
but the best part is still realizing you’ve built something other people think is worth paying for.
more to come!
