Annual coal power plants out produce all annual transportation carbon emissions in the U.S. http://tr.im/lNOB
Imagine that, hydroelectric energy represents 77% or renewable energy production in the U.S. http://tinyurl.com/q4exbp
Colorado Green Tech Meet-Up last night had nearly 300 attendees in Boulder.

Solar and wind power may be increasing every year, but they only represent 0.014% and 0.44% of the nation’s power. http://tinyurl.com/q4exbp
Energy demands are growing faster 1.5 times faster than increases to the world's population.
Energy use does correlate to population growth to a certain extent: more people means more energy.
Wind power in the U.S. (2008) generated 19.5GW, less than Germany at 23GW. Coal in the U.S. (2006) was 313 GW. http://tinyurl.com/qlnwk6
Biomass is a renewable energy we hardly hear about. In 2005 it out produced wind energy 3 to 1 and solar energy 100 to 1.
The US produced the most carbon dioxide emissions per person at 20.1 metric tons compared to 4.1 for China (in 2005).
The U.S. produced 22% of the world’s carbon emissions in 2004 and represents 4% of the global population and 6.5% of the world’s land area.
The Vatican is overcoming the modern evil sin (polluting the earth) by building a $600 million, 100 MW solar power plant in Italy by 2014.
(E.P.A.) finally acknowledges carbon & other gases are causing climate change. Green energy now has stronger staying power in the short term
Consider this, what about changing the Kyoto Protocol to the Clean Earth Air Act or something like it to make it clear, make it descriptive.
Earth day is a great time to reflect on what we are doing to the earth. Can we reduce our carbon while enjoying this wonderful planet?
As a champion for renewable energies we understand the environmental implications associated with carbon energy. http://tinyurl.com/ecoleaf
