Motivation gets you to open Shopify. Systems get you through the week when motivation doesn't show up. Build the boring routines. They're what's still there in month 9.

Contrarian: more SKUs usually means less profit. More stock to fund. More photos to shoot. More things to go out of stock. The best stores I know sell fewer things, better.

Nobody buys on the first visit anymore. They see the ad. Check your reviews. Look at your socials. Forget. See you again. Retargeting and email aren't extras. They're where the sale actually happens.

Your supplier's MOQ is a starting point, not a rule. Ask for a smaller first run at a slightly higher unit price. Most will say yes. Your cash stays free while you prove the product sells.

Went from 0 to 5,000 email subscribers in 90 days. No giveaways. No bots. Just a genuinely useful quiz on the site that recommended the right product. Give value first. The list follows.

Amazon FBA fees creep up every year. If your margin only works at today's fees, it doesn't work. Build in a buffer or build a channel off Amazon too.

The best ad angle is usually hiding in your DMs. The exact words customers use to describe the problem. Copy them into your hooks. People buy when they feel understood.

Ecom struggle nobody posts about: Packing 60 orders at the kitchen table on a Sunday night because the courier comes at 8am. Every big brand started with a kitchen table.

Stop calling it a bad month. Call it data. Which products dropped, which ads died, which channel slowed. Bad months are where the best fixes come from.

Sourcing lesson that cost me a full container: The sample was perfect. The bulk order wasn't. Always get a pre-shipment inspection. It costs a couple of hundred quid. The alternative costs thousands.

Your ad account doesn't care how hard you worked on the product. It only cares whether people stop, click and buy. Detach from the effort. Follow the data.

Most people quit ecom right before the data gets useful. 10 sales tells you nothing. 100 sales tells you something. 1,000 sales tells you what to do next. Get to the numbers that talk.

Shopify tip: turn your best-selling product into a collection of one. Colours. Sizes. Bundles. Gift version. Same winner, five ways to buy it, no new product research.

The most profitable word in ecommerce: 'and'. The case and the screen protector. The hoodie and the beanie. The serum and the refill. Every product has a natural 'and'. Sell it.
45
Hot take: your 'brand' is just the promise you keep every time someone orders. Fonts and colours don't build loyalty. Arriving early, working as described and easy returns do.

The fastest way to kill a good product is a bad first order. Late. Broken. Wrong size. That customer won't come back and they'll tell 10 people why. Nail fulfilment before you scale anything.
52
A year from now you'll wish you'd started today. Not with the perfect store. Not with the perfect product. Just started. Open the laptop.
74
The simplest growth plan there is: More people see it. More of them buy. They spend more. They come back. Pick one to fix this month. Just one.
42
Nobody sees the 40 failed ads behind the 1 that went viral. Winning in ecom is mostly volume and patience. Keep testing. The hit is in there somewhere.

Your first hire isn't a marketer. It's whoever takes the stuff that drains you off your plate. Customer service. Packing. Admin. Buy your time back first.
