We talk about “AI literacy” like it’s a unit to bolt onto 8th grade computers.
Teach a definition, show a demo, check the box.
But literacy is not exposure. It’s habit.
A student is AI-literate when they can:
•ask a better question
•critique a lazy answer
•decide when not to use the tool
Start where students compare outputs, annotate biases, and explain why they changed what the model gave them. 
That’s not a magic trick. It’s just practice, repeated until it sticks.

Appreciate this list, especially the verbs that center the human in the work! One additional one I would add is the idea that learners should be builders. Tooling, both digital and soon physical, will continue to drive down barriers to creating new things.
