Spent a night in hospital from yesterday afternoon. A shout-out to the impressive staff in Durham yesterday. I had all the signs of a possible heart attack, but fortunately it was only a warning from high blood pressure caused by ongoing stress. #nhs

If you know a @unitetheunion member whose pay is reduced while on maternity leave, tell them about parental benefit. I think we are the only union to offer this financial support. Just submitted my form!

Is this a parody account?
Labour MPs would have vilified @AbdulElSayed if he'd been in their party.
When you vilify, smear and demonise good people who refuse to let your hate define them, other good people don't stand by.
They stand up and vote for hope over fear.
Congratulations @AbdulElSayed 🎉

Congratulations Abdul El-Sayed. Congratulations to everyone celebrating victories across the United States.
These are victories for communities standing up to billionaires & the media empires they own.
Around the world, we've all got a lot of work to do. Let's go! ✊🏽

Note the conflation between a motion about 'Zionism' and @JewishLabour talking about 'Jewish communities' as if these two things are the same. Neatly done, JLM.

"Really important to recognise the concessions being made" whilst the Labour Government still push through laws more right wing on immigration than the Tories.
This is Labours new strategy. Announce something awful. Then row back a little and pretend they've won concessions.
Exclusive: Sadiq Khan has welcomed the Home Secretary’s watering down of immigration reforms, saying it is “really important to recognise the concessions that have been made” on ILR

Campaigning really works, and our migrant workers have proved it.
My blogpost on the @unisontheunion migrant workers' campaign that forced the Government to drop some of its harshest proposals. 👇

Let me re-write that for you.
“Union leader who did his job… by defying government orders to protect hundreds of thousands of education workers and the relatives of the children they teach from deadly virus as it tore through Britain’s workplaces”
God love them

1. Key advisers in Burnham's Labour indicate continuity with the Mandelson, McSweeney and Starmer direction.
Also an eye-watering number of links with lobbyists and big corporations with vested interests, such a private water, private health and big tech.

Here's a list of things @ReformDurham and @darrengrimes at @DurhamCouncil are considering cutting to try to plug their huge forecast £83.7 million funding gap.
£83.7 million.
Let's not forget that Reform UK made a marketing gimmick of raising council tax in Durham by just 1.99%.
So their only move now is to pile on cuts (on top of what they're already doing)

I’m sorry that your adult social services have broken down, but I hope you understand this is because the Green Party has said a racist ideology is racist.
