One of the most extraordinary statistics to sum up an extraordinary year.
Real wages – the amount people earn in relation to their cost of living – fell by an average of £76 *a month* across 2022. For public sector key workers it was £180 a month.

It is insane that in 2007 the UK had a higher GDP per capita than the United States, Austria & Finland, let alone France and Germany.
Today GDP per capita in the US is more than *50%* higher than the UK. We've become so much poorer, so quickly. The media cheered most of it on!
