Palestinian land defenders should not be criminalized for protecting their land, rights and communities.
The detention of Palestinian land defender Ghassan Najjar is yet another alarming example of the repression, harassment and criminalization faced by Palestinians resisting dispossession and unlawful settlement expansion.
He must be released immediately and unconditionally.
The world cannot stay silent while those defending human rights are targeted!

Lo que ocurre en #Paraguay con el cierre de @uenopy es una advertencia para el mundo.
En cuestión de horas, millones de personas han quedado expuestas a perder ahorros, fondos de jubilación y la seguridad económica de sus familias. Detrás de cada cifra hay personas que hoy no saben si podrán cubrir necesidades básicas, pagar tratamientos médicos o sostener el futuro que construyeron durante años.
Y, una vez más, quienes pagan el precio más alto no son quienes concentraron el poder, la influencia o los beneficios.
Esto no ocurre en el vacío. Esta crisis refleja una tendencia global cada vez más alarmante: cuando las redes de corrupción, las élites económicas y los intereses particulares operan bajo el manto de la impunidad, las consecuencias son devastadoras para millones de personas.
La crisis exige mucho más que respuestas financieras. Exige transparencia, investigaciones independientes, rendición de cuentas y reparaciones para quienes han sido afectados, y medidas efectivas para garantizar la no repetición.

This is a day that will be remembered in California’s history and resonate globally for years to come. Responding to calls from Clemency California, Amnesty International, and more than 40 international organizations, Governor Newsom has announced a decisive and powerful step away from the use of the death penalty – the ultimate cruel, inhuman, and degrading punishment.
The death penalty should be abolished, everywhere. Today marks a significant moment for human rights in California and across the country, but it is not the finishing line. The world is watching, and this decision is showing that progress is possible, and the United States, which remains among a small group of 17 countries that continues to carry out executions, can move beyond the death penalty.

Israel is escalating its relentless expansion of illegal settlements by confiscating land in the occupied West Bank, including through the alarming step of blatantly ordering the seizure of land in Area A, under the control of the State of Palestine authorities.
States with close trade and political relationships with the Israeli government must urgently take action to pressure Israel to rescind these land confiscation orders.
