In December, I acquired a #SaaS product webscrapeai.com. It was facing a steady drop in MRR, frequent cancellations, and a dispute-prone client base. Yet the product had something compelling about it, something I loved and believed in. So, I dug deeper, got my hands dirty in the nitty-gritty. It turned out, the high churn and dispute rates were due to two reasons: The homepage was not linking to the app dashboard. Making it hard for people to access the app after buying. The only source for them was the email that they received after the checkout. There was no product documentation. Users had to rely on couple of videos recorded for certain use cases. This added friction for power users who have complex web-scrapping use cases. I added a link of application dashboard on home page and created a document of the product. and linked it to home page as well. Fast forward to four months, and voila, MRR has snowballed by a whopping 70%, and disputes? Not a single one. Lessons? Take risks in things you believe in. Tackle problems at the root, & always keep the user experience at the forefront. What are the next step? For four months I did. nothing except talking to users and understanding their use cases. This is the first time I'm actually focusing on product development. I'm to adding new features and improving the scrapping experience for complex websites. #SaaS #UX #buildinpublic
