They will not halt, they will not consult. They have a vision for independent travel in London and it excludes blind & elderly people. These policies & schemes are designed primarily by & for affluent non disabled men🚴🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️💨and adversely impact the most vulnerable in society👩🏾‍🦽🧑🏾‍🦯🧑🏾‍🦼
Blind Lambeth resident raises concerns over the planned floating bus stops in the Streatham Hill scheme & asks @clairekholland to halt it. He says he was never consulted on it. @Keir_Starmer @LordPeterHendy @LordBlunkett @SteveReedMP can you help please (warning collisions shown)

It’s unacceptable for political figures to fuel harmful stereotypes about communities. When groups like @bristolgreen label our community as violent, it reinforces discrimination & emboldens those with existing prejudices & racists like Arron Banks.
Not sure if @Arron_banks ever had a chance to meet with Somali person in UK let alone a Somali person in Bristol. Our advice to him, meet with Somalis be4 you say anything about them &learn their history &why they moved from their country of origin. @BristolLive @TristanCorkPost

In opposition, the Greens pledged to comply with Barton House requests for rehousing. Barry Parsons was one of those Greens. In power, they have sidled away from carrying out the commitment.

This is what happens when cyclists desire for speed is prioritised above pedestrian safety. 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️💨💨 For years cyclists complained about being bullied by motorists and now cyclist lobby groups have the ear of politicians, what do they do, they bully pedestrians. 🚶‍♀️🧑‍🦽👩‍🦯🧑‍🦼
Routing cycle lanes through the pavement at bus stops has to stop. Floating bus stops are not safe or accessible for blind people. Access has to be from the kerbside, direct from the pavement without having to cross a cycle lane first. This is at Elephant & Castle in London.

“Our community is being split on race and class lines by the actions of the city council for the third time in a row and each time that split occurs we have greater and greater problems trying to bring the community back together." #WeCopWatch
Avon and Somerset's police commissioner said she is 'investigating' the large police presence in Barton Hill last week to support the council installation of the last of the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood infrastructure. Read more here: bristolpost.co.uk/news/brist…

When you have affluent 25-55yo non-disabled men in charge of cycling policy, you get superhighways & floating bus stops for affluent 25-55yo non-disabled men to speed across London.🚴🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️🚴🏾‍♂️💨💨 Good people don't want to be associated with this toxic and unjust cycling culture.

They profit. We pay the price. But here in Bristol, we’re taking back control. Community-owned renewables put power where it belongs – with people, not polluters. The future is local. Check out what we’re building in our city: bristolenergy.coop/projects/

Thank you @willnorman for coming to the Sth Circular this morning to see first hand what the issues are and the impact it is having on the red route community.
Beautiful morning in sunny Lewisham talking to @EllaRobertaFdn & @metecoban92 about improving air quality, reducing traffic, road noise, cycle lanes and the urgent need for a chronic disease prevention strategy to help save the NHS.

Cyclists are now placed above vulnerable pedestrians on TfL's mobility pyramid. The cycle lobby claim "pavement cycling is crucial to give children freedom and safety" but 99% of cyclists racing through floating bus stops are adults and most are affluent 25-45yo non-disabled men.
Routing cycle lanes on the pavement at bus stops has to stop. Floating bus stops / bus stop bypasses are not safe or accessible for blind people. Access has to be from the kerbside without having to cross or step into a cycle lane first. This is in Camden close to St Pancras Int.

Replying to @willnorman
@willnorman why did you ignore @LittleNinjaUK ? We live metres from the A20. During 6 months’ road works (2024) below 👇 the LTN wasn’t suspended. My son (who’s autistic) has worsening asthma, increased meds. Chaos at LTN egress points leaves him unable to go out unaided. 😡
After discussing with Rosamund how LTNs worsen air quality by increasing traffic on the South Circular Road and with your new understanding that LTN traffic relocation schemes exacerbate chronic disease thus endangering the NHS, what will you do differently in your role?
