“If abortion violates your conscience, don’t get an abortion” “If slavery violates your conscience, don’t own slaves” These are matters of law and justice as well as conscience. If they’re wrong for one person—and they are—they’re wrong for everyone.
Raised Catholic, I was taught abortion was wrong in all circumstances. I became a single-issue voter. Years later my first pregnancy ended tragically. At 12 weeks there was no heartbeat. They scheduled a D&C. I was sobbing so hard during the procedure that they stopped and brought my husband in to calm me before trying again. That’s the same procedure used for abortion. Since Roe fell, women in many states have been denied or delayed that care while doctors fear prosecution. Abortion saved my life. It allowed me to go on and have three successful pregnancies. I would never take life-saving care from a woman and her doctor. But if a woman’s faith precludes her from this, I respect her decision. That’s her choice for herself. Changing your mind isn’t weakness. It’s strength. #Catholic #choice #Roe

“I received treatment after a tragic event and therefore women should be allowed to kill their children” is quite a take

The U.S. sustained large levels of migration for our first 150 years because new arrivals came from similar cultures. Within 2-3 generations, their families fully assimilated. Third world migration is the exact opposite. The 2nd/3rd generations embrace the parents’ home culture, often in radical forms. The American way of life suffers.
REMINDER: When Mamdani’s father came to America, he was here for about five minutes before he became a communist street animal. Instead of deporting him, we allowed him to fester in the this country. Now his demon spawn runs our biggest city. Deport foreigners.

The Trump administration is full of young men and women who love this country and want to fight for the American people. We should all be prepared to defend them if the time comes.
Thank you, Mr. President! re: junior political appointees: "It would be very unfair to go through what we went through for four years with the corrupt weaponization took place... I certainly don't want to see innocent people go through hell and lose all their money."

Public benefits should go to Americans, actually.

We are currently blockaded at our hotel. Riots have broken out in Rome right outside. The Italian police seem to be taking a firmer approach than their French counterparts. We heard ~5 grenades go off. Hopefully the agitators are suppressed swiftly and decisively.
Hundreds gathered in front of the Colosseum. The protest in Rome has begun. The crowd is chanting “we are all antifa.” God help us! #Colosseum #Italy #Rome

Update: on our way to London now! Our hotel did excellent work blocking the entrances, and the Italian police acted quickly. Pray for Rome. Pray for Europe. And pray for the United States—this doesn’t have to be our future.

There is no such thing as labor shortages. There are only employers who don’t want to hire Americans.
Funny how “no Americans will do this job” usually just means “no Americans will do this job for that salary”

Going forward, the litmus test for political candidates, judges, and public intellectuals is going to be nationhood: is the United States a country, with rights and a shared vision of the good, or is it an economic zone?
Post-Trump, the Right could splinter into five factions: - the Restorers (those who yearn to revive the old pre-Trump consensus) - the Hard Populists - the Tech Accelerationists - the Christian Nationalists - the Catholic Solidarists The one cause that can suture them together is concern about mass migration (each backs restriction for its own reasons and in a different tone). The Restorers are learning that the children and grandchildren of post-1965 migrants are inimical to American exceptionalism and Israel. The Populists and Christian Nationalists: self-explanatory. The Tech Right: automation of all kinds will lessen the hunger for skilled and unskilled labor. The Catholic Solidarists (which includes many non-Catholics): they oppose mass migration not on identitarian grounds, but for the sake of the economic common good and to protect the wages of bargaining power of native-born workers. The upshot -- just as a descriptive, empirical matter -- is that the complex of issues around migration, assimilation, and social cohesion will remain the central priority of the broad Right well into the 21st century. The twentieth century was about the battle between God and atheism. The twenty-first century will be about the battle between Christianity and Islam.

Last term, the Court bent over backward to grant emergency relief for abortion companies engaged in the criminal enterprise of shipping abortion drugs. This term, the Court bends over backwards to deny relief for the benefit of “transgender” prisoners. The Court is political!

There are roughly the same number of American tech graduates each year as there are STEM jobs that go to foreigners. Grads like Mr. Weis do everything they’re told, only to be replaced. Shortages are a myth. There are only employers that don’t want to hire American.

The biggest problem with OLC is that it wins so much and so thoroughly that it will be hard for future OLCs to match the standard of excellence set by @ElliotGaiser and his team. From abortion to DEI and immigration, these guys are getting the law right day after day. Inspiring!
When the journalists at the Washington Post set out to write a hit piece and the worst punch they land is that @ElliotGaiser's office is sparsely populated. Nicely done, leading a core component of @TheJusticeDept. President Trump is fortunate to have such a strong legal team!
