We enjoyed a music therapy session with Siska. We sang songs that sparked memories, and relaxed making gentle sounds with the instruments. Music therapy has many benefits including cognitive and memory enhancement and improvements in emotional, mental and physical health.

Yesterday the residents enjoyed a new active class called 'Pulse', run by Julia. She has many years' experience in the care industry & now leads these classes alongside her own gym. We look forward to having a 'Pulse' active class every week! #carehome #nursinghome #respitecare

Yesterday we had our much-loved visit from Alpaca Adventures. We are lucky enough to have them visit us several times a year, we always look forward to hearing about their lives and wellbeing. We are already looking forward to our next visit! #Carehome #nursinghome #RespiteCare

This week in Art with Josie, our residents enjoyed creating more butterfly studies using metallic watercolours and oil pastels. Some also made handmade greeting cards which are for sale in Elliscombe House reception, with all proceeds supporting our Residents' Activities Fund.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of a wartime show performance from The West Country Songbirds. Georgia and Nelle sparked so many amazing memories for the residents, even bringing some of them to happy tears. We cannot wait to welcome them back for their 1950's show in July!

Today we said a fond farewell to our Manager Amy, who is leaving to further her career elsewhere. We had a lovely send-off for her outside in the gardens, and wish her all the best for the future.
