SoundCloud should let two creators/ creator & labels to collab post a track just like how instagram does. It expands reach and exposure, and sometimes you donโt want to post a track twice taking away from a label, but want it showing up on your page too. What do you all think?
As more AI slop pours onto the web, music & arts, the less people will want to be on their phones as no one can discern what is real anymore. There will be a gravity towards IRL shows, human curators and localised communities, which is why Iโve built Nekta.vip
I think this is super accurate
AGI might just create a two-tier split in society, and I'm kinda starting to see it around me
One part of society will succumb to AI slopscrolling and free money (basic income) from government as work is replaced by AGI
The other part will fight that instead and become an elite counter movement that focuses on IRL, family, local community, and health
I think many will be in kind of smaller communities (kind of like eco villages in the pic below), and my friend @csonotes is a good example of that and we try do the same (so I'm probably biased)
@okaythenfuture below thinks it'll be in the central parts of big cities though
Maybe both?
For both of them you need real estate and land though
Real estate and land also one of the few scarce resources left in a post-AGI world where almost every good becomes almost free
If you told me a decade ago I'd want to buy real estate and land I'd call you crazy, but post-AGI it makes a lot of sense I think

This is the reason all of our artists payments will only continue to go down per play.
30-50,000 AI songs a day are uploaded now.
They get paid from the same royalty pool as regular musicians.
The ONLY answer to this is a seperate royalty pool for AI musicians made up of people who "opt in" to have 10% or something of their monthly spotify subscription go to the AI payment pool, which is then split by all the ai streams for that month.
10% is generous too by the way. Would anyone actually pay to listen to AI knowingly?
For the last few months I have been working on a production community. Five modules built for UKG and bass โ not generic production advice, the actual work of getting a track from stuck to sent out. Limited spots only!
Doors close tonight. Midnight.

Iโve watched too many talented artists burn out for the wrong reasons.
Not because the music wasnโt there.
Because the system around the music was never built for them.
Somewhere along the way, independent artists were sold a single answer:
- Post more.
- Stay visible.
- Feed the algorithm.
Turn every studio session, every show, every quiet thought into content.
So now the modern artist has to be a musician, a marketer, an editor, a strategist, and a full-time algorithm analyst.
Somewhere underneath all of that,
they still try to make something that actually matters.
Iโve lived inside that tension.
As Eloquin, Iโve released across UKG, bass and underground scenes.
Played festivals.
Worked with labels.
Built campaigns.
And the thing I keep coming back to is this:
Music careers donโt get built by attention alone.
They get built by trust.
By repeat listeners.
By people who show up.
By scenes that carry a sound forward long after the algorithm has moved on.
Thatโs why Iโm building @nektalabs
A network built around how artists and scenes actually connect, not how platforms want them to perform.
Promoters, managers, label folks, artists - where do you see people losing the most time to things that donโt move the needle?
Iโve spent 10 years of my life making music.
Immersing myself in all aspects of the industry -
Producing, Performing, Promoting - practically living in it.
As an artist, Iโve released music as Eloquin spanning from UKG, House to Drum & Bass + Dubstep.
Iโve played festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, El Dorado, Nass, Sundown and Gemfest.
Iโve run labels.
Built campaigns.
Worked with artists.
Watched scenes grow from nothing but sound, energy, trust and community.
And the deeper I got into music, the more obvious one thing became:
Artists are told to build audiences, but not communities.
Fans are treated like data, not people.
Platforms reward attention, not connection.
And music is increasingly being shaped around what performs online, instead of what moves people in real life.
That never sat right with me.
Because music was never meant to be just content.
It was meant to gather people.
To create identity.ย To build scenes.
To make strangers feel like they belong to the same thing.
Thatโs why Iโm building Nekta.
A community-first music network for artists, fans and scenes.
- No engagement traps.
- No algorithm to game.
- No pressure to perform for visibility.
Just artists, fans, and the culture that connects them.
Iโll be using this page to share what Iโm learning at the intersection of music, culture, technology and community.
If youโre building in music, creative technology, independent scenes or artist infrastructure - Iโd love to connect.
The future of music is not more noise. Itโs deeper connection.

about 70% of all my festival booking requests for next year so far have been for b2b sets, possibly one of the worst recession indicators to me personally so far. enough
So for the past 2 years I havenโt been getting @SoundCloud royalties because I hadnโt signed up for the artist verification, I was getting roughly $20 a month and that was before I had as many followers as I do now, what does that mean for all of the plays that Iโve accrued since then? If anyone has had this issue let me know Iโd be interested to find out

Misleading. They came to take the phone of a teenage girl suspected of creating a fake social media account in someone's name and sending indecent messages "of an incredibly serious nature that have caused serious concern for the victim."

I hope I'm wrong.
But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn't even know was there. The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever.
Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.
I didn't feel like this when an attempt was made on President Trump's life. If I had to rationalise why I didn't, I guess it's because several US Presidents have been shot at and even assassinated. Somehow it was within the realms of the possible, no matter how awful.
But to murder a young father simply for doing debates and mobilising young people to vote for a party that represents half of America? This is something else.
Charlie's death is a tragedy for his wife, his children and his family. I don't pray often. I am praying for them tonight.
But I fear his murder will be a tragedy for all of us in ways we will only understand as time unfolds.
I hope I'm wrong.
Whatever your views, he was open to debate and was a really sincere and authentic person. Real loss. Anyone that celebrates death is sick @charliekirk11

Elon Musk just vowed to save the UK.
โข UK energy bills rose 60% in 3 years
โข 30% of families struggle to afford power
But Tesla just entered the market.
Now, every greedy energy giant has Musk to deal with.
Here's Musk's plan to save the UK citizens:
Is anyone else getting the same bug on @SoundCloud when trying to share private tracks it generates a new private link every time so no one can listen to it??

When the pub dies, more goes with it than just a pint.
I saw an interview with AJ Tracey the other day and it hit the nail on the head.
Pubs are part of British culture. Theyโre where people meet. Where ideas are shared. Where strangers debate politics, sport, life. Where worldviews get challenged, rightly so, all over a pint.
But now? ยฃ7 pints at a push. Hundreds of closures. Fewer places to gather. Less cross-generational conversation. More isolation. More echo chambers.
If people arenโt meeting, theyโre not talking. If theyโre not talking, theyโre not listening. And that, long term, leads to narrower thinking and a more divided society.
Reviving the pub isnโt about nostalgia. Itโs about rebuilding our social fabric.

๐จ The UK's nightlife is on its knees: We're losing 10 venues every single month, with over a third of clubs already gone since 2020. At this rate, our club culture could vanish by 2029. But there's hope - here's why supporting independent music matters more than ever... ๐งต
A thriving music scene needs to grow organically, yet the attention seems to focus on the top 1% of artists. This overlooks the closure of 10 nightclubs a month across the UK and the decline of nightlife culture. The success of mega-tours shouldn't distract from the vital role that underground venues and independent labels play in nurturing new talent.
The best way to sustain a vibrant music scene is through support of small labels and events. This can be as simple as sharing posts of artists you like, discussing new music with friends or just going out and seeing a new band. By fostering a culture of sharing music and supporting independent artists, we create an environment where the entire scene can flourish.
SUPPORT SMALL LABELS.
