Mutsuko K. Sasaki is one of the overlooked voices of early computer art. Working at Japan’s Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, she developed the ART series of image generation systems and explored how mathematical functions could produce visual complexity, rhythm and even beauty.
Her work reminds us that the history of generative art was never written in one place, nor by one canon.
