OTD in 1994….
Shades of the ‘89 wild card game as Rod Woodson makes game-changing play in OT in the Astrodome
He forces a fumble that the Steelers recover then Gary Anderson kicks FG to win.

OTD in 2005…
The longest TD of Troy Polamalu’s career
After Bryant McFadden sacks Brett Favre and forces a fumble, Polamalu recovers it for a 77 yard TD in Lambeau Field.
The road warriors win their 11th consecutive road game.

The #Steelers fooled the Browns on the same fake screen/wheel yesterday...twice!
It may have been setup by throwing screens on the same 3x1 look in Week Four (different downs in the first examples but planted seed all the same).

A beautiful Malone to Erenberg TD sparks an easy upset win over the Bengals.

Cam Heyward made his 200th career start for the #Steelers today.
He's only the third player to ever start 200+ games for the Steelers, joining QB Ben Roethlisberger and C Mike Webster.

The Take by the Lake
Carnell Lake makes exceptional game-clinching 4th quarter interception in Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium, which sits on the shore of Lake Erie.
What a difference a month makes. Just one month earlier, the Steelers suffered a 51-0 beatdown against Cleveland.
It’s also Lake’s 1st career pick.

Part of this was indeed game situation, but the result of every Colts run when Gabriel Rubio was on the field (10 run defense snaps):

10 carries, 7 yards, 0.7 YPC #Steelers
Every Gabriel Rubio defensive snap in his rookie debut vs. the Colts in Week 5:
Rubio isn't much of a pass rusher, but it's hard not to be impressed by his run defense in his first NFL game. Dude's engine runs nonstop. #Steelers

Gabe Rubio stacking and shedding two darn good offensive linemen for tackles.
Quenton Nelson the first clip. Tanor Bortolini the second.
Great punch placement, taking full advantage of his length, and play strength to finish. #Steelers

Awesome highlight clip.
TD's by Eric Green, Warren Williams and Barry Foster with Rick Strom highlights to boot!
Gotta wonder why Noll let Walton "unsimplify" his offense after that impressive mid-season run.
OTD in 1990…
Joe Walton’s offense suddenly comes alive
After failing to score a single TD in the first 4 weeks of the season, the Steelers offense scores 4 TD’s in one game.
Eric Green makes a big difference in his 1st career start.
After failing to lead the offense to a TD in the first month, Bubby Brister becomes the NFL’s highest rated QB over the following month.

Forget the two-time 'Pro Bowl' status and the occasional splash play/big hit...
Patrick Queen is more often than not a liability on the Steelers' defense.
My thoughts: stillcurtain.com/patrick-que…

OTD in 2004…
Troy Polamalu scores his 1st career TD
It’s a spectacular game-clincher with 2 minutes left.
He picks off his former USC roommate, Carson Palmer, then runs him over at the goal line for the TD.

The Steelers top two picks in 2022 and 2023:
2022 1st - Kenny Pickett
2022 2nd - George Pickens
2023 1st - Broderick Jones
2023 2nd - Joey Porter Jr.
One has played on five different teams, and the others are all now Dallas Cowboys

The technical term for this is, "the good stuff." Athleticism, quick feet, powerful punch, patient in his set, able to redirect. Lot to like from Iheanachor. #Steelers
My film room breaking down OT Max Iheanachor's first start.
An excellent performance with lots to be excited about. #Steelers

Thread of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith's 4 sacks yesterday. #Steelers
Watt's first. Heyward made the play ripping through LG but Watt rushed inside with the OT set + RB chip and grabbed Rush as he hitched up. Good coordinated rush.
