We need clean, reliable water for drinking, growing crops, manufacturing, and generating electricity. That’s why it’s so important to work together to make sure North Carolina has access to clean and reliable water.
It’s an honor to continue to tackle this and other critical issues at this year’s @emergingissues Forum. The forum, a vision of the late Governor Jim Hunt, began 40 years ago as a way to bring together people from a variety of perspectives to build a safer, stronger, and more resilient North Carolina.

At the dedication of the library that bears his name, Jim Hunt said: “The world doesn’t need another think tank. We need a think-and-do tank.” Think and Do has been NC State's mantra ever since.
Hunt died on Dec. 18. He was 88.
