No Pens Day Wednesday is back! November 27th 2024. Let's celebrate spoken language and #oracy. @SpeechAndLangUK speechandlanguage.org.uk/get…
My new favourite book! I can’t
believe I haven’t found it before as I loved ‘Can’t not won’t….’ It’s just like reading about our household. I need to share it with family members to help them understand too! Thanks @_MissingTheMark
3-0 win for Izzy’s U9s football team today! He scored a goal (his 7th this season), plus there was a goal from each of 2 close friends from his class. Lovely to see such great teamwork and them grow as a team this season 💙⚽️
Apparently this is how footballers keep warm…. Finally wore something on his legs! I’m staying in the warm tonight, thanks @Ann40409552 E & M for taking him x
Stood in the freezing cold at 9.30am on a Saturday morning with frost on the ground watching my son play football. And so winter begins! Couldn’t feel my feet! But worth it as he was involved in scoring/setting up the goals for his team @Teamgrassroots_

Are you an educator of a learner with PDA?
If so, here are my seven top tips for establishing a relationship with them (taken from my book The Educator’s Experience of Pathological Demand Avoidance).
What other tips would you give to educators / parents of PDAers?👇💬
Today marks 20 years since I started my job as a Speech & Language Therapist in the NHS….Promoted twice, but still here, in the same service & one of the same schools (that I actually started placement in as a student in 2000) and have never left #MySLTday
Today is 20 years since a group of 20 of us at UWIC graduated as Speech & Language Therapists…. I’m still in the same job for the NHS (but several bands higher than when I started) @cardiffmet
Just read the first 134 pages of ‘Can’t Not Won’t - a story about a child who couldn’t go to school’ by @_MissingTheMark. So easy to read. It’s like reading about mine and my son’s life! Will order some of the other books on PDA (to learn as a SALT, and mum of a PDAer)
Manic Street Preachers - Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head (Live at the ... youtu.be/kAu-sRV99-A via @YouTube @manics This is still my favourite version of this song
Loving @SamRyderMusic and @JustinHawkins from @thedarkness NYE performance! I’ve rediscovered ‘Permission to Land.’ So many good songs. Can’t believe the album is 20 years old this year!
So on the last day of term, I picked my son up from school and he had a purple rash under his lip. Took him to pharmacist who said he needed a prescription. Rang GP surgery at 3.30pm on a Friday and spoke to lovely receptionist. Uploaded photos, then had text to say (1/2)
