A big story on @NurseinPractice today:
Experienced ANPs are struggling to secure jobs in general practice because of issues with an NHS 'digital badge' scheme. ANPs say the scheme is ‘discriminatory’ and ‘deeply flawed’buff.ly/4f0Li6q

Calling advanced nurses practitioners and others in advanced roles - have you been impacted by the digital badge implementation?

On Friday my friend through a party that had a DJ and in the courtyard tables with craft activities. This might be the most genius party I have ever been to for anyone who struggles a bit with social anxiety or finds it hard to integrate.
This is such and important and heartwarmingly honest tweet.
The modern world does not value community as much as it should and as a result many feel the same.

There are real problems 25,000 people left the nursing register last year
and 2,470 fewer people applied for a nursing degree course.
Those numbers add up... to trouble. myemail-api.constantcontact.…

One of the worst things about election time is people with no idea about the NHS wading in with their 'bright ideas' about how to fix it.
Yesterday I saw a patient in clinic who had another patient's record uploaded to his electronic record.
Today maintenance staff had to..
50 % of the NHS budget is spent on non clinical staff… let that sink in. We must reform the NHS to prioritise actual treatment
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Staff costs make up just under 50% of the NHS budget in total, not just non-clinical.
Non-clinical staff include cleaners, caterers, porters, & maintenance. All of these are essential to proper running of any organisation & provide important support to patient-facing staff.

Is he going to invest money to change the systematic inequality in employment practices/ terms & conditions that has salaried GPs receiving full maternity & sick leave but nurses without in the same practice?

To be clear Prime Minister, we have not reached an NHS pay settlement for nursing - our members rejected the government's offer and remain in dispute. We expect whoever forms the next government to start direct negotiations on nursing pay during the summer. #ITVdebate #GE2024

Critical investment and infrastructure needed in #primarycare to sustain development and nurture all our nursing colleagues working incredibly hard for best care and outcomes for and with communities. Above statutory sick pay and maternity pay as a fundamental in GP care please
You told us that low pay and unsafe staffing levels are causing a crisis in nursing.
Nursing is fundamental to building a healthy society and economy.

Twitter has become so boring, impossible to have any thoughts on current affairs without everything being weaponised in the Doctor v everyone else debate.
Nursing staff are as much part of core GP and are also having a tough time, zero
Solidarity shown as usual.
I should add I’m not against recruitment from other areas but it really takes knowledge of roles and support to for this to go well, it’s important that there’s at least some transferable skills a support plan and timeline to up skill.
