Students on our Engineering and Manufacturing T-Level have won an award after building an electric go kart to race at @croftcircuit as part of a nationwide competition. The young engineers were the only ones who built their go kart from scratch.

A day trip to a research and testing facility went off with a bang for students on our new engineering T-Level. The group visited @DNV_Group in Spadeadam as part of a series of site visits to improve their industry knowledge.

Students were energised as our Engineering T Level went nuclear with a visit to a Hartlepool power station. They enjoyed a guided tour of the EDF Energy facility, finding out about nuclear fission, electrical generation and safety.

Students from @woodhamacademy were at SWDT this morning to take part in practical workshop sessions. The Year 11 pupils were learning how to solder copper pipe jointing and about central heating systems and also took part in CAD/CAM activity in the engineering training workshops.
Our HNC and HND in Engineering courses starting in February are ideal for engineers looking to progress their career with a higher education qualification and can lead to a full BSc or BEng degree.
