What do you call an army that kills a surrendered Palestinian #child in front of the camera, in front of the world?
They call it "the most moral army in the world"

Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

The man who bought Sierra Leone. Jos Leijdekkers’s is one of Europe’s most wanted criminals. His greatest caper yet looks to be the takeover of a country. In half a decade Leijdekkers has turned Sierra Leone, a place previously best known for blood diamonds, into a hub for billions of dollars’ worth of Colombian cocaine, disguised as rice or plantain chips, which pass through each year en route to Europe. By funnelling a share of the profits to Sierra Leone’s political elite and funding large parts of the state itself, Leijdekkers has amassed perks that would be the envy of a Bond villain. He is believed to have a Sierra Leonean diplomatic passport. The police and military establishment bow to him, squadrons of container ships and submarines ply the shores at his command, and he is escorted in a motorcade by the presidential guard beneath a cloud of drones

In Australia migrant children scored slightly higher than local children in m PISA tests while in most other nations migrants saw poorer results than locals. Australia of course manages its population flows while in Europe lots of migration is unmanaged in nature (refugees, asylum seekers, illegal migrants). Comparing European migration patterns with Australia doesn’t make too much sense.

“The article also reports on early, reportedly serious offers from Hamas (via the network of Mohammed Dahlan) to release all civilian hostages unconditionally in the days right after Oct 7, and a parallel Qatari mediation offer to the head of Mossad) both of which Israeli officials reportedly rebuffed or failed to take seriously), as the political and military leadership turned its focus on on destroying Hamas rather than negotiating with it.”
Where do I go to get my apologies from all the people on this hellsite who insisted on 2023 and 2024 that it was all about the hostages and the war could stop if Hamas agreed to release all the hostages??
This morning's Haaretz bombshell article claims Netanyahu received a direct, explicit warning from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) about 10 days before October 7, and never passed it on to Israel's security chiefs. The warning was that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was preparing a major operation against Israel.
The warning reportedly stemmed from a secret backchannel, through which Israel and Hamas had been quietly negotiating a temporary truce and prisoner/hostage-body exchange throughout 2023, with Netanyahu's knowledge but repeated delays on his part. As talks stalled and Sinwar "vanished" in early September, he later used the same channel to warn twice that Hamas was preparing a "zilzal" (earthquake). This warning reached Israel's Shin Bet on September 15, triggering security meetings on September 17 and October 1, but no decisive action was taken.
The article also reports on early, reportedly serious offers from Hamas (via the network of Mohammed Dahlan) to release all civilian hostages unconditionally in the days right after Oct 7, and a parallel Qatari mediation offer to the head of Mossad) both of which Israeli officials reportedly rebuffed or failed to take seriously), as the political and military leadership turned its focus on on destroying Hamas rather than negotiating with it.
Israel elections are scheduled for Oct 27th.
