For the first time in nearly 40 years, Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 has achieved food security in cereal production under Ibrahim Traoré in 2025.
This last happened during Thomas Sankara’s tenure. That alone explains the attention. The state produced 126% of the nation’s cereal needs, feeding itself with surplus.
Food security is not a speech—it’s math: fields harvested, storage managed, distribution controlled. The numbers now speak louder than ideology.
A country that feeds itself is halfway to true independence.
