Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
I would be remiss not to mention that exactly seven months ago tonight, Auburn won the most prestigious—and to my knowledge only—postseason basketball tournament
Me as we exited our polling place:
“You know who wishes they could vote? Those 29 men on the Edmund Fitzgerald. They didn’t get to vote on whether they loaded up 26 tons of taconite pellets and headed straight for the gales of November.” 🫡
Just blank stares from @aocutiepi84 😂
Nonononono, not like this!!! 😞

Yes. I think by the time we play them, we'll be capable of beating them. I have no actual evidence for this belief, mind you, but I hold it nonetheless.
Slightest, most microscopic, almost invisible silver lining: at least we didn’t play him in the exhibitions assuming he’d eventually get cleared. We still have our dream of repeating as NIT champs intact.

Wow the end of the South Carolina-Tennessee game was the same as Auburn-Georgia right down to the same score *and* the favored team fumbling before *they* could kick the game winner.
Zooming out a bit: In basketball Auburn beat Florida in Gainesville, and less than 10 months later beat Georgia in Athens in football. Kind of insane that we ended these two streaks, which felt like they’d just go on forever, in the same year.
