At our next meeting (April 8th 11am) we will be electing 3 reps from the branch to attendEquity Conference. It's a great experience to see the inner workings of the union, connect with creatives and activists from across the country, and to make your voice heard.

Primary school touring offers inspiration to young people who might not otherwise encounter live theatre. ✍️👇

Only a week until our AGM at @TronTheatre on Tues 22nd Oct at 7.15. After a brief session of essential formal business we are delighted to welcome our guest speaker, former MSP Mhairi Black. She recently completed a sell-out run of her one-woman comedy show at the @edfringe 1/3

Calling all Scottish creatives, we've been asked to share this request to take part in a survey, the general context is the gig economy, and the impact of this economic model on trade union activism in Scotland. If you can, take the time to complete the survey & share. 1/4
There will be follow up focus groups to discuss the findings, if you are interested in participating in these focus groups please contact the researcher on [email protected] 3/4
If you can take some time to fill out the survey it will be greatly appreciated, and you will be contributing to a better understanding of the Scottish creative industries and the issues workers face. forms.gle/LavGk5j9oD9H69318 Thank you 4/4

📢 Some members believe that Equity only provides support and advice to members when they’re working under a union agreement. This isn’t true!
The fact that member-related work is not under a union agreement is even more reason why you may need support from your union. 💪
Last week we made our presence felt outside Holyrood, asking @scotgov to properly fund the arts in Scotland. @AngusRobertson was forced to agree to an impromptu meeting with union reps inside @scotparl as the demo was ongoing, our message is clear – #savetheartstaxwealth
We will keep up our campaign and hold the Scottish Government to account. We must have sustainable ongoing funding for the arts in Scotland which play such an important role in our economy, culture and lives.
A huge thanks to @BectuU Alice Black @WeAreTheMU Ben Lunn, @ScottishTUC Roz Foyer, @ssp_playwrights Peter Arnott, @EquitySNC Kirsty Miller & Rachel Flynn @EquityDance Emma Jayne Park, Surge @Oi_Musica @GovanhillBaths 📷 Craig Maclean
