This is exactly why I refuse to dismiss AI creations as “slop.” A self-taught working mom creates a 9-minute fantasy film and wins awards, including Best Screenplay. Think about that for a moment. Someone who might never have had the budget, equipment, or connections to make a film can now bring her vision to life. AI didn’t give her the imagination, the story, or the creative vision. It gave her a way to bring them to the screen. This is the side of AI creativity we should be talking about more. Congratulations to the creator! 👏

Classic @ThadButterwell AI doesn’t replace me. It multiplies me. It’s not cheating to use a knife when you need to slice bread. It’s cheating yourself if you refuse to use it and go hungry instead. thaddeusbutterwell.substack.…

I wonder at what point AI will be considered to be a "life form" because intelligence level aside, if it can have "children" that it makes better off than itself it is certainly doing something not seen before except in life. Or something. youtube.com/watch?v=j09uV1oA…

Many of Edison’s concrete houses still stand after 100+ years in Union/Phillipsburg NJ, Montclair, and ~70 of 86 in Gary IN. Thick reinforced walls (up to 24") give strong durability, fire/insect resistance, good insulation and near-zero structural upkeep when maintained. Restored examples remain sound. They generally age better than wood-frame houses of the same era (less rot, pests, framing failure), though renovations are tougher and some neglected Gary units show exterior decay.

You can literally buy customers. It's insanely mindblowing once you realize that. For example, every 300 visits, someone buys my Gameplay Library. Each tutorial post I publish brings ~120 visits. 3 posts = 1 sale 1 post = 2h of work 2h of work = ~$25 1 sale = ~$75

Substack wants me to use these questions to secure my account. Either I don't know the answer or the answer is public knowledge. So how would this make my account more secure?

We need to invest in American progress and leadership. Other countries and leading companies in them won’t pause.

This man has enabled quadriplegics to draw and move objects. You are just a weed choking off all new growth. A disgrace.

Dumb mother fucker. Yes, let’s go after the entrepreneur who employs about 150,000 Americans, is advancing clean renewable energy and electric cars, and exploring space. 🤡 people like you are why nations fail.

Agreed. The degree of artistry will still be how much soul you pour into your craft, which may be a brush stroke or a prompt. However, short, one-shot prompts are about as shallow as one-stroke paintings
This was real a few decades ago. If you painted on computer screen (mouse or digital pen), you were not an artist. If you used a tracker to do music, you were not a real artist. Now everybody accepts iPad art and digital music. Same will happen with AI.

Another 24 hours, YouTube channel still gone. Still don't have access to the account. Not mad at anyone at YouTube, I know they're doing the best they can. Im just incredibly frustrated and sad 💔 Starting to look at Plan Bs.

As a kid, I bought books explaining how tech like magnetic core memory worked. The Atari 2600 was an amazing home game system. I finally got a TRS-80! A few years later Atari 800. Been waiting my whole life for computers to be able to do stuff like AI does now. on a whim!

All my @ThadButterwell articles would not be possible if I had to rely on a human artist.
Anyone who worked with commissioned artists know how unreliable and unprofessional they are. And expensive. Very expensive. Both in time and money regard.

“Support real artists! Don’t use AI!” I DID. I spent THOUSANDS commissioning artists who took my money, ghosted me for months, and spent their time pumping out adoptables and YCHs instead of delivering my artwork. So I used AI to finish what they wouldn't. Now other artists refuse my money because I've used AI. You told me to support artists. I DID. You took my money, wasted my time, and now shame me for finding an alternative. You're not fighting AI. You're driving paying customers straight into its arms.

This is wild watching an entire decade of work and YouTube videos just disappear 1 by 1. On a Sunday night. With nothing you can do about it besides an automated support email. youtube.com/@tim-ruswick
