My Little Brother is gone. You left us too soon! You were such a beautiful boy who grew into a wonderful man!
I'll miss you always, my dear friend. I still see your smile and hear your laugh. You will live forever in my heart, and through your wonderful children.
CU in Heaven!

Why do I get the feeling last week’s vuln discoveries were just the appetizer to the main course that’s coming next?

It's there implying that it will do something, but really it is just for show.

What an amazing day! An honor and a pleasure to represent my @DDNintelligence team at @TechFieldDay today.
My cup (and heart) is full of joy.
I hope you got as much from it as I did.

I'm hiring!
This is an exciting new role for someone who wants to chart new paths for Ramp data. Where should our data show up, but doesn't today? Who should we collaborate with on new economic research projects?
We're looking for new ideas from people who are as excited as we are.

The Context Swamp, 9am PT. 30 minutes with @Eric_Kavanagh, Bharath Chari, and Jo Perez on whether AI agents are about to repeat the data lake's worst mistake one layer up.
Questions at the end; bring one.

We built data lakes that turned into swamps. We're about to do it again, faster.
Every agent rebuilding its own context = a context swamp.

Exactly right. Here’s my case that AI is actually lifting the SaaS boat, even as it clearly cannibalizes some of the market:
The “SaaSpocalypse” thesis is backwards.
@Stripe currently shows U.S. AI spending growing 91% YoY. Yet its non-AI SaaS index is also growing at a rapid >30%. AI is far from draining the software economy and is actually expanding it. But AI spend is also growing at roughly 3× the rate of SaaS, so the mix is in the midst of changing vigorously.
The corresponding earnings data also rhymes. @Microsoft M365 commercial cloud grew 14% while seats grew just 6%, with 30M+ paid Copilot seats. @Workday says AI already drives >25% of new ACV. @Salesforce Agentforce ARR is a whopping +240% YoY. @ServiceNow subscription revenue is robust +24.5% while AI crossed $1B ACV.
My conclusion: AI is lifting all the software boats, for now (though this could, and is likely to change in coming years.) But right now, it is creating new budget before it destroys old budget. Large platforms are converting AI into higher ARPU, consumption and new workloads, weaker point solutions will face the squeeze first.
The SaaSpocalypse does not herald a software spending recession.
Instead, it will arrive as a partial transfer of overall growth, from seats -> intelligence.
The SaaSpocalypse was more like a RenaiSaaS stripeeconomics.com/p/the-sa…

Yes, I think that’s right. Professional services and management consultancies have to have some kind differentiated IP they can uniquely deploy via AI. They’ve tried for years to do this and now their survival depends on it. We will see.

Our analysis is that consulting (as a business model is dead). Small scale independent consultants (gig workers ) and tiger teams will continue forever but fee for services biz models at scale are done.

NEW from Ramp data. Despite cost-cutting on AI overall, one area companies are increasing their spend: AI security software.
In the wake of the Hugging Face hack, three of our trending software vendors (depthfirst, Monte Carlo, Antithesis) make software specifically designed to monitor agents in production.
Unclear as to whether any of them would have stopped the Hugging Face attack, which was so hard to track and identify because the agents covered their tracks with falsified logs.
I expect AI security will become a strong headwind to deeper enterprise adoption, at the short-term expense of OpenAI and Anthropic and at the long-term benefit of vertical-specific security software cos.

We can finally say AI isn't killing jobs.
A new paper from me, @tryramp, and @RevelioLabs uses firm-level spend and workforce data across 21K U.S. businesses to measure AI's impact on jobs.
Firms that adopt AI heavily grow headcount 10% over two years following adoption. Low adopters see no statistically significant change.

I love this: AI agents that act, not just chat. For CX and cloud, faster action + clear governance wins.
