We sought comment from you before publication. You didn't respond. A tweet almost 24 hours later is not a comment answering our questions.
The @nytimes article by @apoorva_nyc still says HHS “did not provide a comment.” We sent @SecKennedy’s response more than 24 hours ago and asked them to update the story. They haven’t. Readers deserve the full story. Here’s the response the Times has yet to include.

This is what billionaire ownership of the media means: Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta shut down the No Kings account for hours during the height of their protests. Meta suppressed accounts supporting Brazil President Lula da Silva in the recent election. Larry Ellison’s TikTok blocked advertising for a documentary criticizing Elon Musk. Fight back. Defeat oligarchy. Preserve democracy.

Mamdani's act of graciousness at Ground Zero this morning appeared to leave Giuliani defanged and a bit...chastened. "I'll pray for you," the past mayor told the current one. "It's a really hard job." Our little dispatch on their unexpectedly warm encounter: nytimes.com/2026/09/11/nyreg…

Grapevines climbing into treetops, some over 200 years old, still yielding up to 30kg of fruit each. Bolivia's Cinti Valley is a hidden, high-altitude wine region built on centuries-old "arbolito" vineyards and rare criolla grapes found nowhere else 🍇 decanter.com/wine/cinti-vall…

Southold has always made great wine, first on Long Island and then in Texas, but problems forced them to leave one, and then the other. Now they are trying again in Bordeaux. nytimes.com/2026/07/16/dinin…

In my first story with Kelley French for @washingtonsun, I spoke to the woman pictured in the Metro photo on July 4. She didn't know she went viral. Her family wants people to know their difficult reality. Please take some time with our story today notus.org/metro/viral-metro-…

James Wood is my sweet son. He's Intelligent, kind, funny, and a hell of baseball player. James Woods with an "s" is an actor and a different sort of fella altogether. Felt like that was important to say right about now. Sure wish others were as careful about spelling as I am.

Here's what the pork industry doesn't want you to know about the way it sneaked a provision into the 2026 farm bill that would nullify ballot measures that improve animal welfare, while helping Chinese companies torture American pigs. The issue is personal to me, because we once raised pigs on our family farm, and I saw that these are not commodities but animals rather like dogs: smart with very distinct personalities. A naughty boy who punishes a single animal may be punished, but an adult who presides over the systematic abuse of hundreds of thousands of pigs as a business model is hailed as a visionary CEO -- and voters get that, and that's why they have backed laws that improve animal wellbeing. This is, remarkably, an issue that unites many liberals and conservatives alike; @TomiLahren, @Cernovich and @IngrahamAngle are among those who have been outspoken on this issue. I hope R and D members of Congress alike will stand firm, for the stakes are immense, with four pigs slaughtered around the clock on average all year. Here's a gift link to my piece: nytimes.com/2026/05/30/opini… I welcome your comments.
