Martin’s Da Nang photo updates have a new owner. I’ll be your daily dealer of Da Nang pics for the foreseeable future.
This is my 1st day, so please be nice.
update on this: i started a blog for my app 1 week ago because of this post
one cron job writes an article every day and translates it into 5 languages
results so far: 256 impressions and 2 clicks already 😭
we're so back
anyone flown to vietnam on a one-way ticket? apparently you might need proof of onward travel? is it a myth or do they actually check it?
i almost fell for this 🤣
Honestly, this guy lost his App Store apps and dropped to $0. He looked cool, so I hired him.
But this is beyond anything I can comprehend.
See you in court.

in 2 days i'm moving to Vietnam 🇻🇳 to start over and try to make it online
it's been one of my biggest dreams for years. to make enough money online to travel around Asia like a nomad, without worrying about next month
it started in 2022 with @levelsio's blog. i was reading it at work, about how he packed everything into a backpack and moved to Asia
"that's so cool!" i thought, as i kept binging his articles
but after that i just went back to my 9-5 job :D
for 4 years it stayed a "one day" thing
then a few months ago my feed filled up with people who moved to Da Nang and said it changed their life
they weren't famous founders making millions or anything like that, just normal people building stuff online like me
so i thought, if they can do it, why can't i?
i don't make enough online yet, at least not as much as i need
but i know i work best with my back against the wall. when i burn the bridges and making it is the only option left, i HAVE TO find a way
we'll see if it works this time too
i'll keep building mobile apps, keep growing my social app and keep building in public
i have enough money saved for about 4-5 months
by then, i need to make at least $1k/mo in profit to keep living my dream
i have a rough plan for it and i'll write about the whole thing here every day
i expected to be scared, but i'm not, and i don't really know why/how
it's the biggest decision of my life and i feel no anxiety at all
just excited, like something big is about to change
that has to be a good sign, right?
anywaay if you live in Da Nang (or did), pls tell me any tips & tricks you have
coffee's on me when i get there!
ok, my final theory: connecting a content scheduler is what tanked my views. even though I only used it to send posts to drafts
trying again with no scheduler. everything posted manually
will report back
if you're about to buy a second phone for t1kt0k slideshows, read this first
I did it and I think it ruined my reach
here's what happened:
- for about 2 weeks I posted slideshows 3x a day for my app. ~1.5-2k views per post, 70-100 likes. all from my own phone, no IP changes (I'm in Romania, so 80% of my viewers were Romanian)
- then I saw a post about using a VPN. tried one set to the US, same phone. it kinda worked: views doubled, likes stayed about the same and my viewers got split across a bunch of countries. fine by me, at least they weren't all Romanian anymore
- so I thought "let's go the extra mile". ordered a new phone and a proxy, like the pros do. set everything up on the second phone and the new IP seemed to work
then I think one of these 2 things messed everything up:
1. I made a new account on the new phone, but I also logged into my old account on it because I wanted to have all of them in one place. I think that confused t1kt0k
2. I wanted to automate posting, so I started using Postiz. for that I had to connect my tt accounts, which I did on my laptop. so for a second, each of my account was connected from the same Romanian IP
and now:
- my new accounts get 0 views, even after warming them up (tried 3 times)
- my old account gets only 300-400 views per post
lesson learned: if something works, don't fix it
if you've been through this: did your account recover or did you start over? i'd love some tips :)

one of the most liberating realizations a human can have:
almost all of your thoughts are completely useless, wrong, and meaningless.
they are just biological feedback from a dysregulated nervous system, old childhood defense mechanisms, and genetic conditioning.

this is embarassing
signs that your SaaS is vulnerable to be displaced:
> unspecialized software
> lack of focus from team / founder
> minimal domain expertise on the team
> price is the only differentiator
> no proprietary data or network effects
> zero switching costs
> it's a feature, not a platform
> zero brand equity
> no relationships outside the codebase (partners, providers, industry)
> non-existent support
shoutout to @ahmedgagan11 for identifying an opportunity and crushing the launch 🎉
