Couldn't resist posting my linocut of Standedge after @BBCBreakfast report this morning.

Difficult to get a good photograph of this. Each small image is 60 x 40mm, but I think it comes across okay. It was meant to be focussing on the composition of the paintings rather than the content and annoyingly one missed off a "chunk".

"Sea Grief" multiblock reduction linocut. The stormy clouds have quite an embossed quality (they weren't embossed) but are a nice contrast to the other flat clouds. Again the rain adds a little depth and interest.

I really like this description of painting, which I think works for printmaking as well.

Upcoming show at Art at the Alex of recent linocuts that all have water in them, somewhere. Check their site for times.

The idea for this linocut came, not only from older prints, but perhaps more from a painting made many years earlier. The intention was recreating the painterly qualities. As is usual that fell by the wayside and the result is quite different from the painting.
