Surround yourself with people who want to see you win and life gets a lot easier.
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.””
Hebrews 12:28-29

You can’t win an argument with your husband or wife.
Peterson’s point is simple. If you win, you’ve defeated your spouse, and you two are one, so you’ve defeated yourself. Now you live with someone who’s defeated and bitter.
So what do you do if you’re the better arguer? Help your partner make their case. They might be right, and it’s in your interest to hear it.
He connects this to loving your enemy and giving the devil his due. Being good at talking doesn’t make you correct, and stomping around insisting you’re right fixes nothing.
One of the wisest things anyone has said about marriage.

It took me years to realize that if you’re a people-pleaser, healthy boundaries will feel like conflict, and healthy conflict will feel like a world-ending disaster.
He’s right about the years being short. You have about 10 years with each kid (from 3-12) to engage before the distance gets wider.
6 pm. You walk in the door and your son is already holding two gloves.
"Dad, come throw with me."
"In a minute, buddy."
Then you sit down on the couch and the minute turns into the whole night. He stops asking around 7. He goes and plays Xbox instead.
You tell yourself you'll do it this weekend.
You've been saying that since he was eight. He's twelve now.
I'm not here to beat you up. You're wiped because you've been carrying a business, a mortgage and everyone's problems all day. That's real.
But he doesn't see the payroll. He sees the couch.
The years where your kids actually want you out in the yard are shorter than you think. One day he'll have his own truck and his own friends and the gloves will sit in the garage.
So tonight, before you sit down, go throw for ten minutes. Shoes still on, work clothes and all.
Be the dad he brags about.

Underrated Life Advice: Learn how to partner with God in your business. Throughout your day, take your challenges, decisions, and interactions to Him. Ask Him what He would have you do. I guarantee it will teach you to slow down and listen for and recognize His voice. There is just something more peaceful about surrendering your business to Him and letting Him be the CEO. #thoughtsbythefire

My favorite takeaway on X today is @SahilBloom Bad-Day Protocol. Here’s mine…
I’m resolving to having a bad day protocol in order to stop it in its tracks.
It starts with a mindset shift back to gratefulness. I’m going to find the simplest things that are going well in my life, or things i can truly be grateful for. Im going to list at least 3, and up to 10.
After that, I will resolve to move. I will walk, run, lift weights, make my bed. Whatever I can do in the moment to move and put my body in a better place.
I will read an encouraging scripture, turn my ear to God and talk to Him. I will let Him affirm me once again as His cherished son.
If all else is failing, I can do these things.
And that will feel good.
Bad day halted.
Good day starts.
Reset. Refresh. Rest.
