Wanna get better? Work from the hole and go backwards… 1. First, ruthlessly eliminate 3-putts. 2. Second, learn to avoid penalty strokes at all cost. 3. Next, practice getting up and down from anywhere. 4. Then, focus on hitting more greens from 150 yards out. 5. Finally, hit more fairways with your driver. Most amateur golfers approach practice in the opposite order.

When my son punches my other son but tries to tell me he just tripped and his fist hit his brother’s face. Same vibe.

About Rory McIlroy’s shot today where two balls appeared… #theOpen #BritishOpen
The first time this happened was in ‘64 in the finals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur at @prairiedunescc. JoAnne Gunderson (Carner) hit two balls out of the gunch left of the green on hole 8. Rules official, Joe Dey, ruled no penalty. Source: @rhilst

We don’t talk enough about how the anchoring ban is the most ignored and idiotic rule in sports.

Statement from Scottie Scheffler to me: “This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers.  It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do.  I never intended to disregard any of the instructions.  I’m hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today.   “Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning.  It truly puts everything in perspective.”

It’s about time for Scottie to feel how golf is when you have kids. Stressful morning and a mad rush to the first tee.

The notation of “disposed charges” is significant. Usually means it’s been removed from the docket.

Also not for nothing, there are police cars/cops/stops EVERYWHERE when you drive into golf tournaments. Players get told all the time to drive on through.
Just a full-on disaster for the PGA of America. A horrific accident that killed a pedestrian and the world no. 1, who is an angel of a human and a new father, in fucking jail for trying to get to the golf course.
