Probably just a coincidence.
TONIGHT: 28 consecutive hours of improv comedy is coming to the Wedge. Is that legal? Why wasn't I notified? Where will they park? You should go, if only to express your concerns.
Hey, @WedgeLIVE, would you let your hyperlocal followers know that HUGE Theater has moved to the Wedge? And that we’re doing 28 consecutive hours of improv comedy for Give to the Max Day, starting 8pm tonight at 2728 Lyndale? Info: hugetheater.com/

I know politics is more your beat, I was just listening to the election results podcast and I thought, hey, maybe John would like to come to a show now that we’re officially in the Wedge! And then social media mind took over.

I believe one of our city's most dangerously depleted resources is trust. In healthy cities, people build and maintain trust by interacting with each other. I don't know many events that foster spontaneous, positive encounters between diverse groups of people like Open Streets.

Public Works says they want events that are explicitly about biking, walking, and transit. Open Streets is "about" that, of course, but biking and walking and transit shouldn't be the goal. They're a means to an end. The goal is a better, happier, more sustainable city.

Open Streets days are Minneapolis's best days. Letting them end would be foolish.

Today we’re launching Minneapolis for the Many, a new independent expenditure group with a simple goal: elect a progressive majority to the Minneapolis City Council in the November 2023 election. (🧵1/8) Please donate here if you can help: secure.actblue.com/donate/mf…

This is horrifying. Praying for a speedy recovery for all those injured. We must end this vicious cycle of violence in our communities. mprnews.org/story/2023/08/12…

Heartbreaking. My thoughts are with August’s loved ones and everyone at the show last night. From Folwell to East Phillips, everyone in Minneapolis deserves to go about their lives without the fear of gun violence. Support Caitlin here -> gofundme.com/f/help-support-…”

I tweet about this from time to time, but read Tony Bennett (@itstonybennett) on war, and the lessons he took from it, and the lessons he took from seeing American racism during the Allies’ occupation of Germany. It’s powerful stuff & hugely instructive: thedailybeast.com/tony-benne…

About to address the @citi shareholders — for our kids, for yours: stop funding climate crisis. Lending $5B to Enbridge is lending $5B to fossil fuels, land and water destruction, and gross violations of the rights of Indigenous peoples. Change history. #StopLine3 #StopLine5

Simultaneously heartening and devastating: the same group—literally the same group (@OurJusticeRJ), with different folks running it—that helped people leave Minnesota for a legal abortion in 1967 is now helping people travel here for a legal abortion.
