Chicago Public Schools just announced record graduation rates. And @GovPritzker recently bragged about Illinois' education "results". Neither claim is honest. The graphic below does a better job at telling the truth about how the education system is failing, especially at CPS. 2024 vs. 2018. Massively more spending. Most kids can't read and it's worsening. Doesn't matter. Move the kids along. Graduate them. Rinse, repeat as the district shrinks in enrollment. It's why Illinois urgently needs Universal School Choice, among a host of other public school reforms. #twill #schoolchoice @GlennYoungkin @ilgop @illinoisdems

A Democrat running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan just argued that Americans should have the right to own muskets. Because that's what the Founders had. And the audience laughed. But here's what makes this interesting. The Supreme Court already rejected that argument in 2008. In District of Columbia v. Heller, the Court said the Second Amendment isn't limited to weapons that existed in the 18th century. And here's the irony. He made this argument into a wireless microphone. While being recorded on a smartphone. For people to watch on the internet. None of which existed in 1791. Yet nobody thinks the First Amendment only protects speech written with a quill pen. So why would the Second Amendment stop at muskets? Here's my question: If constitutional rights only protected technology available when they were written, would that logic apply to free speech and privacy too? Or should the Second Amendment be treated differently? Tell me why.

Lyndon Johnson declared war on poverty in January 1964, and poverty promptly won. The Office of Economic Opportunity launched that same year, spending $800 million in its first year alone. By 1980, the federal government had spent over $3 trillion (in today's dollars) across the constellation of Great Society programs: Medicaid, food stamps, housing subsidies, community action agencies, the whole apparatus. The poverty rate in 1964 sat at 19 percent. By 1973, it had fallen to 11 percent. Impressive, until you notice it was already falling at precisely that rate throughout the 1950s, before Johnson spent a single dollar. The market was already doing the job. What Johnson created was a dependency infrastructure. The Aid to Families with Dependent Children program paid higher benefits when no father lived in the household, which subsidized his departure. Between 1965 and 1980, out-of-wedlock births among black Americans climbed from 25 percent to 56 percent. Charles Murray documented the numbers exhaustively in "Losing Ground" (1984), and the left never refuted the math; instead, they attacked Murray personally. Bureaucracies administer poverty rather than eliminate it. Every dollar Washington sends to a poor family in Chicago passes through a federal agency, a state agency, a county office, and a caseworker's desk first. The machinery consumes a stunning share before anything reaches you. Capital formation, voluntary exchange, and sound money pulled more people out of destitution in the 19th century than every federal program combined has since Johnson's cameras rolled in the Rose Garden.

🚨DataRepublican @DataRepublican just confirmed the quiet part out loud: Illinois Governor JB Pritzker @GovPritzker is explicitly named in the videos as one of only two governors willing to green-light the “illegitimacy memo”—a playbook for declaring a duly elected President illegitimate after the midterms so Democrat governors can claim they are the only legitimate U.S. authority. This isn’t abstract “resistance.” NSL4A (the retired military and national security officials operationalizing the plan) and Pritzker’s own Governors Safeguarding Democracy group have been working the same sequence of redlines, including treating lawful federal pushback against coordinated protests as proof of illegitimacy. Add the funding layer—his sister’s role in the Democracy Funders Network—and the coordination stops looking coincidental. Imported regime-change tactics, billionaire governors, and ex-military networks drafting the conditions under which states nullify federal authority: that is the actual document trail. DataRepublican has the receipts.🔥
Yes, he is. 1. The videos explicitly name the Illinois governor as one of the two that were willing to buy into the illegitimacy memo. 2. He’s co-chair of Governors Safeguarding Democracy which apparently liked the memo and presentation. 3. I believe Democracy Funders Network is involved in a lot of the funding and his sister chairs that.

City Colleges of Chicago faculty and staff voted 96% to authorize a strike and could walk out Monday. Contracts expired in July. After months of talks, they’re still fighting over wages, healthcare, AI rules, and free developmental classes while students wait to see if classes even happen. Brandon Johnson’s mayor-appointed board has had months and still no deal. Same pattern as the rest of his education fights. Big votes, stalled talks, then classes get disrupted. Community colleges are supposed to stay open and affordable. Instead, students and taxpayers get another round of leverage through shutdown threats right as the week starts. Nothing says “accessible education” like shutting it down for the students who rely on it most. H/T @nbcchicago

Brown was sentenced to 120 days... but he was released early, and only served 60. He was out in MARCH!!!!! Two months later, he beat a postal worker with a ROCK and st*bbed Alyssa Paige to de*th at noon on the Atlanta Beltline. Me explico.

Meet Turhan Mildon: 29 years old, Turkish billionaire, and quite possibly the most efficient grifter of his generation. Most of us spend our twenties figuring out navigating roommates. He spent his collecting heads of state. Last month he married 42-year-old Alina Habba, Trump's former personal lawyer, in a reported $10 million wedding at the Waldorf Astoria. The guest list included Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Counsel Will Scharf. Normal crowd for a normal wedding between two normal people. How does a guy get there before 30? Easy. Follow the steps: Step 1: Marry into a Turkish family whose company built a mega-mosque for Erdogan. Get introduced by Erdogan to the president of Congo. Step 2: Become an adviser to Congo's president and pick up a Congolese diplomatic passport. As one does. Step 3: Head to Venezuela. Divorce. Get engaged to the daughter of a U.S.-sanctioned admiral close to Maduro. Land a contract running the country's state-owned cement plants. Step 4: Watch the U.S. capture Maduro in January. Learn the Trump administration reportedly weighed sanctioning you (his team calls that a "malicious rumor"). Lose the cement contract in June. Step 5: Meet Trump's former lawyer at the Kennedy Center. Plan a wedding in about 60 days. Invite the top law enforcement officials in America. Strategic? Romantic? Why not both. And the fun part: he's still trying to hang onto that Venezuelan cement deal. Totally unrelated, we're sure. Oh, and he's still only 29. Or 25, according to British corporate records. Either way, he's out-hustling everyone you know. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love apparently also comes with a diplomatic passport and a seat next to the FBI director.

Wow… a sitting United States Senator walked into the University of Chicago and told a room full of students exactly what her side plans to do if they get the power back. Elissa Slotkin says she wants to look at "signature cases" and not just focus on the president "but on the people who enabled him," and then she said the rest out loud like she was reading a grocery list… she wants young people coming out of school to look at a job in the Trump administration and think "Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don't want, and so let me avoid participating in that." Her words, "I want that deterrence message." So let me make sure you heard it right. She is not talking about catching criminals, she is talking about making examples out of people so the next generation of conservatives is too scared to serve their own country. The target is not the man at the top, it is the young person fresh out of college who thought working for their country sounded like an opportunity. Now keep in mind this is the same senator who refused to sit down with the DOJ back in February over her video telling troops they could refuse illegal orders, and who said on camera the Trump administration was using intimidation "to deter others from speaking out" and that "the intimidation is the point." Those were her words eight months ago. Today she wants a deterrence message aimed at kids coming out of school. So which is it, Senator? When they look at you it is intimidation, and when you do it to a young staffer it is policy? I have lived on the receiving end of lawfare for years, and I can tell you the punishment is the process. They do not need to win the case, they need you to drain your savings, lose sleep, watch your family worry, and make sure everybody watching decides standing up is not worth it. That is the whole point and she just admitted it on a stage at the Institute of Politics like she was presenting a policy paper. But hey… they are the party of norms, right? Think I am wrong? Watch the clip again and tell me what "deterrence" means to you. This is what they will do with the gavel and the subpoena power if you hand it to them on November 3. Every young person who loves this country should hear this and do the exact opposite of what she wants… show up, serve, and refuse to be scared off. @ElissaSlotkin, message received. We are not going anywhere. But God.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics. @ElissaSlotkin

You claim Illinois has "more people working than ever," but the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics confirms the state labor force shrank by over 80,000 workers in the last year alone. In reality, Illinois has 200,000 fewer employed residents than it did 20 years ago. Worse, independent reports show Illinois ranks 44th in job growth under your tenure. You only added a net 9,400 private-sector jobs while expanding bloated government payrolls by 36,600 to paper over the damage.
Illinois has more people working than ever before and they're earning more than ever.

The entire Russia policy under Trump shows why he'll never, ever live up to the greatness of Reagan. Great presidents need to rise above short term politics, sometimes at personal risk, for the long-term good of the country. Trump will never do that. Ever.

To every American, and to everyone watching France burn from abroad: Do not blame the French people for this. We never asked for it. We never voted for it. And the one time we were clearly asked, we said no. Here are the numbers your media won't show you. 70% of the French say there are too many immigrants in France today. 79% want a tougher immigration policy. 77% disapprove of the government's record on immigration. 83% want foreign criminals and long-term unemployed foreigners sent home. And no, it's not just the old. 69% of French 18 to 24 year olds support suspending legal immigration for three years. This is not a fringe. This is the French people. In 2005, we were asked if we wanted the European Constitution. 55% voted no. Three years later, our politicians passed the same text under another name, through parliament, without ever asking us again. That is modern France in one sentence. The people say no. The elites do it anyway. So who is responsible? The politicians who lied to us. A class of leaders formed in the same schools, the same forums, the same networks, loyal to each other before they are loyal to their nations. In 2017, at Harvard, Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, bragged about his Young Global Leaders program in four words: "We penetrate the cabinets." He added that it was true in France. Emmanuel Macron was one of his Young Global Leaders. It's the same project in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and in Paris with Macron. Borders treated as an obstacle. Nations treated as relics. The people treated as a problem to be managed. What you are watching in France is not the French people failing. It is the end of the globalist project, an abject, quasi-communist dream of a world run by unelected planners. It is collapsing everywhere in Europe at once, and the West has to cut this cancer out before it takes the rest of the body with it. The peoples of Europe don't want this. They never did. So when you see our town halls burning, don't say "the French chose this." The French never chose this. They were forced into it. If you're French and you agree, repost this so the world hears it from us. If you're American, look at us carefully. Then choose differently on November 3rd.

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin. apnews.com/article/russia-sa…

An out-of-state fraud suspect has vanished after a Cook County judge ordered his immediate pretrial release, completely blindsiding the police who tracked him down. The victim jumped for joy when he was caught, assuming restitution was near. Instead, a judge let the suspect walk, he skipped court, and a second arrest warrant has been issued.
