I grew up in his shadow. I was his first D J as he & dad built a radio transmitter. Uncle Harold got Hue short wave receiver. Dad & Harold put in a huge antenna in our back yard.

Agree, all this talk about AI’s are sentient beings and we can’t be responsible for their actions is a BS attempt by the AI companies to shield themselves from liability nytimes.com/2026/10/10/opini…
So true. Someone came out & said it. 75 or higher percent will not give a care about a.i. they want
LIFE.
NO ONE CAN EAT DATA.WE NEED CLEAN WATER, AIR, AND FOOD IN OUR GUT. A PLACE TO SLEEP MP& someone besides a pet to snuggle with.
what people misunderstand about the age of personal software is that most consumers don't even want the software; they want the outcomes
consumers don't care about your photoshop rust clone
they want ai to fix their pictures and just say what they want; they don't care about 50 layer filter types
same goes for presentations, documents, anything
people want outcomes, not more software, personal or not

AI/SI, i.e. computer models, do not:
1. Learn: data are fit to models
2. Hallucinate: models output error
3. Think: models cannot think
4. Feel: models cannot feel
They are not:
5. Intelligent: models are numbers and equations
6. Conscious: models can't come alive
7. Smart: see #4.
8. Creative: models can only say what they are told to say
Everything good, and bad, about models takes place in:
9. The minds of modelers and users.
Thanks to you @ArgyropChristos
The profzi scheme is a famous comic from Jorge Cham. It compares academia to a Ponzi scheme: many students work for a professor to produce more papers. The professor takes credit for all the paper, but few of the advisee will have a great academic career because... the whole thing is pyramidal... the numbers don't add up.
The whole operation is largely sterile and only works due to the pretence that producing peer reviewed research papers is equivalent (synonymous) to producing new, valuable, knowledge.
What happens if AI can produce the papers?
The scheme is exposed.
We see it in mathematics right now. The AIs sidestep the entire peer-review process... and provide correct proofs to what was considered by the math establishment as the important problems.
These people are very angry.
It is the great AI debunking.
So what is the solution? Go back to what should always have been. The purpose of research should never have been to produce peer-reviewed papers. This was always a perversion. (For people who do not read me regularly, the peer-review model became dominant in the 1970, it is a recent addition.)
The purpose, of course, is to solve problems that people care about. That's much more difficult than producing papers... so it puts the bar much higher for scientists and researchers. But the bar should never have been lowered in the first place.
What happens to the 'profzi scheme'? I predict, I hope, that it will fall. Not all of a sudden, but once the system come to the realization that the production of papers is a solved problem, AI can do it better than us... then it won't be decades before students start worrying about where the train is headed.
(The comic attached is AI generated. Obviously.)

Using GLP-1 slows down your gut. So your pain meds are not absorbed quickly.
I’m grateful I did NOT witness my brothers death.
However did he die sooner than expected because of the stinking GLP-1 DRUGS? We WILL NEVER KNOW.
My family are traumatized

This systematic review and meta-analysis confirms the existence of a U-shaped relationship between physical activity and the risk of atrial fibrillation, with physical activity being associated with a 22% reduction in the odds of atrial fibrillation within the general population and a 26 MET-hr/wk offering the greatest reduction.

💪 Muscles aren’t the only tissues adapting to training!
A meta-analysis found that mechanical loading increases tendon stiffness, with greater adaptations at higher loads. Both isometric and dynamic training work.

The pain and suffering and massive expense of the litigation was worth it not only for vindication by a jury of my peers but also to reveal exactly how scientific institutions decided not to follow due process (which is almost akin to scientific method)
MIT thinks it can put on a show claiming to value merit to keep the DOJ and the White House off its back.
David Sabatini’s case exposes that smokescreen. Their true colors were on display throughout his ordeal. Scientific excellence was disposable when it conflicted with their political priorities. They have hollowed out the science while continuing to trade on the reputation it built. Their real priorities are far removed from the excellence they advertise.
Excellent article from @mrddmia.
