Very glad that all the equity long-short/fundamental/quantamental PMs used their unique human talent to spot the infrequent massive opportunity that this unwinding presented!

the usecase for agents / trading is compelling but i don't think the market has come to an understanding of what the end product will look like what will agents trade? why will these agents trade? who's going to benefit? will agents help you make more money? will agents help you lose less money? here are my takes until i have more datapoints - trading/finance harnesses are cool technically speaking and they're more valuable to enterprise customers rather than retail traders (talking in dollar value terms) - asking ai what to trade is both smart and stupid depending on who's asking - agents in the loop for trading will accelerate one important behaviour that is retail investors wanting to experiment with ideas which they couldn't without technical knowledge. this is the same replit for trading idea. without deep context and an extremely focused distribution channel, this is a failed idea. some category of traders has to adopt this before the rest follow. - people don't know what to trade, asking ai doesn't solve the problem. there has to be personalization at the context layer - it boils down to helping the end user receive the right information and make informed decisions when it comes to trading/investing, they'll pay for tooling - this isn't a bubble

the thing with trading the news, especially with the recent nbis, skhynix, smsn, anth hype and fomc (in an hr) is that you'd really struggle to get an idea of what the consensus is and if you agree/disagree with it things are all over the place, try doing it we kept these things in mind when designing @tryaspenai and it's showing results

got a lot of feedback on product this week - the feed needs to be more consumable (catch what trending faster) - better filtering on the feed - more clarity on portfolio and holdings (why you're holding the positions you're holding) - summary of trades shipping fixes to all of these asap

people don't have views of their own, the internet/algorithm shapes it. so your holdings are a reflection of what you heard from someone else. 1% of the original thinkers have views, the rest of us either agree or disagree with it. that's my contrarian take.
