Among the many delights of Slow Horses, my favorite Apple TV show by far (and its best, IMO), is that every season ends with a preview of next season. In an era where many high-profile shows take years between seasons, Slow Horses' steady cadence is refreshing

I’ve been to Art of Play many times for magic shows, and Molly the purely mechanical bird is really cool. Here’s a video I shot last year. I can see why Kelly Clarkson would want to buy it. But also, Kelly Clarkson + Art of Play’s Molly is so random a collision that I’m upgrading my belief in the simulation hypothesis

Maybe Elizabeth Holmes will turn into A24's next durable IP after Ti West's X trilogy
BREAKING NEWS: #ElizabethHolmes is leaving prison and transitioning to a halfway house in Del Valle, TX (near Austin) next August according to a notice sent to victims of her crime.

A second festival appearance before it releases to the public. Nice get for NYFF which has a stronger and stronger lineup each year, even as all the fall festivals are starting to overlap a lot
We’re excited to announce the New York premiere of Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING to the Spotlight section of #NYFF64! The film will screen on September 30 at Alice Tully Hall with Fielder and Oppenheim in attendance. Learn more: filmlinc.org/everything #NYFF64 is presented in partnership with @ROLEX.

This will probably be the closest I come to breaking news on X
Replying to @eugenewei
But I think the leading hypothesis given the clues in press is that it's some Nathan Fielder/Lance Oppenheim project on Elizabeth Holmes/Theranos

I’ve never been certain if Nathan Fielder is playing a lifelong bit or is just genuinely autistic. And this “documentary” confronts him with someone who makes him feel the same bewilderment (is he for real?!) that others feel when they talk to him: Elizabeth Holmes. The formal inventiveness of this documentary had me vibrating. Like documentary inception. I’m giddy.
YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING, a documentary by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. Featuring Elizabeth Holmes. Only in theaters this October.

Reading this tweet right after the Telluride premiere of You Can See Everything makes this hit different
Sometimes I genuinely can’t tell whether I’m under caffeinated or over caffeinated. My solution is usually to have another cup of coffee and see what happens. Not a great diagnostic.

I just got out of this premiere at Telluride. I know I’m a Nathan Fielder stan and all, but my god. This was brilliant.

I waited five and a half hours to get into this screening. But I would’ve given up my seat for one guy and one guy only and that’s @SeanFennessey because this would make him so giddy for so many reasons. Sean I hope you were in there tonight.

If the secret screening at Telluride really is a Nathan Fielder hybrid doc/narrative on Elizabeth Holmes, I can't decide how long I want to wait in the high-altitude sun for a not-guaranteed seat. But maybe Fielder-style humor will deter some of the older, bougie Patron Pass holders.

Honestly quite a feat that Telluride has kept their secret screening tonight under wraps. If it's a recent A24 acquisition, then other domestic distributors have seen it. Surely one of them might leak, even if unintentionally.

Sharing a side project I vibe-coded with @claudeai: The Chinese Founder Atlas. It maps the people who built China’s tech industry across three axes: generation, geography, and clan. It’s a bird’s-eye view of the builders of China’s tech industry, and a human, relational way to understand who they are. thanks to @caithrin @eugenewei @danwwang Irene Zhang, @loubohan @le1du for feedback! I hope you find it helpful. Links in comment.

Damn, even the Pope is in @PabloTorre 's corner
Do not be afraid to sow without immediately seeing the fruits. The sowing belongs to you; the growth belongs to God. No gesture carried out in the name of Christ is useless.

TIFF has published their schedule and lists some titles as Canadian or International Premieres, and NYFF's schedule lists some titles as New York Premieres. Since a Telluride appearance is the only way a title ends up with those designations, an educated guess of what's in Telluride's schedule drop tomorrow: The Debut (Eisenberg) Elsinore (Stone) Ink (Boyle) Bucking Fastard (Herzog) Club Kid (Firstman) Wild Horse Nine (McDonagh) Tender Loving Care (Leigh) Fatherland (Pawlikowski) A Long Winter (Haigh) La Bola Negra (Ambrossi/Calvo)
