Totally agree, same with pizza
pacifier use is so super rare by 5 that at 4 it's probably not worth stressing yourself and the kid over. There are things you can do that are in a million books but really eventually they just stop and you don't have to overthink it.
My band The Stellar Jays of Flagstaff recorded a basement take of Third Stone from the Sun (Hendrix)

The “standing on your lawn sipping coffee” meme seems to be dying out and let me say thank god that shit was never funny
We got my band The Stellar Jays of Flagstaff together and recorded this basement take of Cissy Strut

This guy thinks he knows what a normal day for a human is
🇺🇸 Zuckerberg says that in 5 years you will have a personal AI that knows your life and does the work for you.
"Everyone is going to have an agent that really intimately understands your goals and everything around you and can help you get stuff done."
He means one assistant on money, health, the house, the calendar, running in the background all day.
Meta wants that agent sitting inside the apps people already live in, so it becomes the way you get through a normal day.

Oh good NY Times has put out a list of shows you probably have seen if you went to college and have at least a master’s degree and own property
One thing that I really can’t stand is the idea of AI assisted manuscript reviews
I know theoretically it’s inevitable if the no. of AI assisted manuscripts skyrockets
And AI can really help with many mundane academic tasks
But ms review is not one of them
many people I worked with at a big NY museum paired up with coworkers, got married, had kids (I’m one of them). Cohorts of educated people in their mid 20s with shared interests and values. Maybe it’s not as common nowadays
Funny they don’t ask about Biden even though he was literally the only Democrat to beat Trump (and handily) in a presidential election

I feel like this was a big deal that I didn't see on X/Twitter (I don't do Bloo-Sk-eye) over the summer that will be a boon for genome annotation and TE research in general. (I just found it while prepping for my genomics course). Paper below #TEs #transposableelements
what say you @ass_deans
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has issued a 10-page memo signaling a retreat from its traditional role of giving grants to individual researchers to pursue their best ideas and to train the next generation of scientists.
Instead, the memo makes clear, NSF will devote the bulk of its resources to addressing the research priorities of President Donald Trump and his administration, many of them technology focused. scim.ag/4ipE1kY
But my gripe is from the point of view of an author: submit a paper and wait for (sometimes) arbitrary demands from reviewers that editors the assign. When I review a solid paper (which is often), I think: Can’t we just accept as-is? I don’t see a lot of reviewers doing that.
